【Towards fully-electronic processing】 MGTO digitalizes tour guide card onto Macao One Account

Starting today (10 December), Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) adds the tour guide card digitally onto the professional card holder of Macao One Account for greater convenience of tourism professionals. The processing of tour guide card application and related formalities becomes fully electronic, in parallel with the city’s progress towards electronic administration.



Groundbreaking ceremony for UM campus in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin held today

The Land Handover and Groundbreaking Ceremony for the University of Macau’s Campus in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin was held today (9 December), marking the official commencement of the campus construction. The University of Macau (UM) is the first higher education institution in Macao to extend its teaching and research activities to the Cooperation Zone. Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao SAR, said that the establishment of a UM campus in the Cooperation Zone will further promote Macao’s better and faster integration into national development. It also marks a new milestone in the coordinated development and in-depth cooperation between Macao and Hengqin. He expressed hope that the UM campus in the Cooperation Zone will become a new model for leveraging Macao’s strengths to meet the country’s needs, developing Macao into an international hub for high-calibre talent, and promoting innovative cooperation and development in higher education in Macao.





2024 Macau International Kart Grand Prix successfully concluded today

The 2024 Macau International Kart Grand Prix, organized by the Sports Bureau, the Automobile General Association of Macao-China, OTK Kart Asia and IAME Asia, and sponsored by Sands China Limited, took place today at the Coloane Karting Track, featuring different race categories of the IAME Asia Final 2024 and the AAMC Karting Championship Round 8, as well as the KZ Class and the Sands Cup.


【Tap into international markets】MGTO and Japan Association of Travel Agents arrange for Japanese travel trade to visit Macao for update and networking

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Japan Association of Travel Agents arranged for 25 delegates of the travel trade from Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, to visit Macao for familiarization between 5 and 8 December. The Office also held a travel mart where Japanese delegates discussed business opportunities with their counterparts in Macao, which facilitates the launch of new tourism products tailored for Japanese visitors, fostering business partnerships and the pursuit of international markets.



【Double celebrations】Light up Macao 2024 is splendidly unveiled to deepen “tourism +” and boost community economy

Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the festive event “Light up Macao 2024 in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region” (referred to as the “event”) is grandly unveiled today (7 December). Artists from different parts of the world are dedicated to creating a symphony of exquisite light art across time and space. Celebrating both anniversaries together with Macao residents and visitors, the event is staged to spur community tourism and nighttime economy, enriching what the city has to offer as a world centre of tourism and leisure. The opening ceremony was held at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre. Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, Lei Wai Nong, and Chief of the Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Ku Mei Leng, officiated the opening ceremony together with other guests.
