DSEDT Attends APEC SMEWG Meeting on Behalf of Macao, China

The 51st meeting of the Small and Medium Enterprises Working Group (SMEWG) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) was held days earlier (19 to 20 May) in a virtual format. Themed “Join, Work, Grow, Together”, this year’s meeting focused on accelerating the post-pandemic recovery.


Part of online services will be suspended on this Friday night due to DSI system maintenance

The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) will conduct system maintenance on 21st May 2021 (Friday) from 10 p.m. to 12 p.m., and online services provided through the “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” where information from DSI is needed will be suspended at that time (including application for marriage certificate, application for birth certificate, application for subsidy for senior citizens, application for the Certificate of Criminal Record and so on). Citizens can still apply for the Certificate of Criminal Record through DSI website if needed. DSI are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

MICE’s Peripheral Industries Benefit from Event Participants’ Tours to the Community

A conference sizing about 1,000 participants has been held in Macao recently. During the event, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) together with industrial and commercial associations of various districts organised tours for more than 1,000 participating merchants to the local community. Certain merchants expressed satisfaction with the arrangement, which allowed them to experience Macao as a safe travel destination. Store owners and travel agencies reported that the MICE event participants can bring business opportunities, and that they feel confident about the future prospects as Macao’s economy gradually recovers from the pandemic.

The Macao Grand Prix Museum will officially open starting from June. For residents’ and visitors’ convenience to schedule visits in advance, the Museum now optimizes its ticketing arrangements on the official website. Starting from 9 a.m. tomorrow (21 May), admission tickets can be purchased online 30 days in advance and up to one day before the visit.

The “Macao Week in Jiangsu” roadshow was held splendidly along the Pedestrian Street at Confucius Temple in Nanjing for four days in a row from 14 – 17 May, in tandem with the offline and online promotions to raise Macao’s profile as a healthy, safe and quality destination and attract Mainland visitors to Macao. The event attracted over 250,000 spectators on site and engaged over 72 million viewers cumulatively online. The hashtag “#Macao Week in Jiangsu#” has received over 28 million pageviews on Weibo.
