Government receives notice of operational event at Taishan nuclear power plant

Macao’s Unitary Police Service has today received a notice regarding an operational event at a facility run by Taishan Nuclear Power Plant.


UM scholar receives IAAM Scientist Medal

Sun Guoxing, an assistant professor from the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME), University of Macau (UM), recently received the 2019 IAAM Scientist Medal at the 27th award ceremony of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) held in Sweden, for his outstanding contributions to the field of advanced materials science.


IFT Launches Postgraduate Programmes

In order to meet the demand of the tourism industry for high calibre talents and heed the call of industry development, the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) has launched new postgraduate diploma and master programmes for the academic year 2019/20, with class started on 26 August. By offering such quality postgraduate programmes, the IFT aims to produce high calibre talents, enhance the overall service and management quality of the tourism industry, and increase the overall competitiveness of Macao as a tourist destination. Collectively, these will help build Macao into a "tourism education and training base of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area".


Results of survey on manpower needs and wages for the 2nd quarter 2019

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of the Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages for the second quarter of 2019. Survey coverage comprises Wholesale & Retail Trade; Transport, Storage & Communications; Security Activities and Public Sewage & Refuse Disposal Activities; however, own-account workers are excluded.

Submission of proposals by local arts groups for the 2019 Macao International Parade from 2 September (Monday)

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 2019 Macao International Parade, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Macao’s Handover to China, will be held on 8 December (Sunday) from 3pm to 7pm. IC is now inviting all local associations, schools, institutes and organisations registered at the Macao Identification Service Bureau to join the event by submitting performance proposals from 2 to 8 September.


Local film project teams participated in film financing workshop in Hong Kong

Jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) of Macao, the Film Administration of Guangdong Province, Create Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Film Development Council, in cooperation with the Guangdong Motion Picture Industry Association and the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association, the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Film Script Writing and Financing Workshop 2019” was held on 26 and 27 August in Hong Kong. Five film project teams from Macao participated in the workshop.
