The application deadline for the “Academic Research Grants”, launched by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), is 31 May 2019. Eligible academics may now submit their applications. Late applications will not be considered.

The Macao Creative Pavilion at the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair was inaugurated promoting distinctive gastronomy
The 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) was inaugurated on 16 May at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Cultural Industries Fund jointly set up the Macao Creative Pavilion at the fair, aiming to promote Macao’s distinctive shops and sharing stories of local culinary brands.

Presentation session of the “Hengqin International Leisure Tourism Island Construction Scheme” held in Macao
The presentation session of the “Hengqin International Leisure Tourism Island Construction Scheme” (referred to as the “Construction Scheme”) was held in Macao today (16 May). The Department of Social Development of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China delivered a themed presentation under the topic of “Build Hengqin International Leisure Tourism Island and support development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a world-class travel destination”.

Local View Power A city on the silver screen
The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, selected 16 brand new local projects commissioned by the latest edition of “Local View Power”. After assessing a staggering 64 proposals, the members of the jury came up with a final selection comprising nine documentaries, four short features and three short animations, all of them listed at CCM’s website. Focusing on a wide range of themes, these projects will be granted around MOP 1,200,000 attributed by a panel of three audiovisual experts. Besides a CCM representative, this edition’s jury included Ding Yuin Shan, an experienced film producer and member of the Academy for Performing Arts, and renowned critic Fung Ka Ming, both from Hong Kong.
