Cultural Affairs Bureau cancels 31st Macao Arts Festival this year due to the global spread of the epidemic

Due to the global spread of the novel coronavirus, the Cultural affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), after a careful evaluation of the risks of the epidemic, announced the cancellation of the 31st Macao Arts Festival scheduled for May 2020.


Opening hours of Communications Museum of CTT starting from 5th March 2020

Starting from 5th March 2020, exhibition galleries of Communications Museum of CTT will open to the public, from Monday to Sunday: 9:00~17:30 and, the museum shop remains opening from Monday to Friday: 9:00~13:00, 14:30~17:45 (Friday 17:30) until further notice.

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) lowered the Base Rate of the Discount Window today (4 March 2020) by 50 basis points to 1.50%.


Maritime Museum reopens on Wednesday

The Maritime Museum, which was temporarily closed earlier due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, will reopen starting from 4 March 2020. In response to the prevention and control efforts made by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, all visitors entering the Museum are required to wear their own face masks, receive temperature checks and present their personal health declarations for the day. Once the Museum reopens, visitors are advised to cope with the implementation of restriction on visitor flow and regular cleaning.


UM thanks outsourced workers for their hard work in anti-epidemic campaign

Since the novel coronavirus outbreak, the University of Macau (UM) has been working closely with 17 external service providers to ensure strict implementation of anti-epidemic measures on campus. Today (2 March),as the university resumes normal operation, Rector Yonghua Song expresses his thanks to more than 300 workers from these third-party companies for their hard work in safeguarding the health of all UM students, faculty, and staff, and for their efforts in ensuring a steady supply of daily necessities on campus.


UM professor appointed advisor to UNODC Asia-Pacific Regional Centre for Excellence on Criminal Justice Statistics

Prof Liu Jianhong, Distinguished Professor and associate dean of the University of Macau’s (UM) Faculty of Social Sciences, has been appointed an advisor to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Asia-Pacific Regional Centre for Excellence on Criminal Justice Statistics, in recognition of his work related to illegal drug problems and crime prevention.


Cultural Affairs Bureau announces list of beneficiaries of the “7th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”

The second review of the “7th Subsidy Programme for Fashion Design on Sample Making”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), has been completed and a total of eight applicants were selected. IC will grant each eligible applicant a subsidy of up to MOP170,000 for sample making and promotional work.


Special arrangement for the distribution of service quota for the money transfer service of Western Union in Macao Postal Savings from 2nd to 6th March 2020

CTT Macao would like to inform that, from 2nd to 6th March 2020, the distribution of service quota for the money transfer service of Western Union in Macao Postal Savings, situated in San Ma Lou (Av. Almeida Ribeiro), will change to be provided online. Starting from 1st March 2020, citizens can start to obtain the quota by registering in https://philately.ctt.gov.mo/QueuingAppWeb, with limited quota distributing in a “first-come-first-serve” basis and without on-site distribution of quota in Macao Postal Savings.
