Macao Consular Corps attended the “Symposium on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” (Session for Macao Consular Corps)
Organized by the Protocol, Public Relations and External Affairs Office (“GPRPAE”), co-organized by the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau (“DSEPDR”) of the Macao SAR, the “Symposium on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” (Session for Macao Consular Corps)(“Symposium”) was held today (June 6, 2019) at Macao Polytechnic Institute. A total of 36 consular officers from 28 countries attended the event.

The 5th Tianjin Exchange Programme for Macao University Students promotes exchanges between Tianjin and Macao
The 5th Tianjin Exchange Programme for Macao University Students was inaugurated at the Institute for Tourism Studies, Macao (IFT) on 6 June. The programme was organised by Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, as well as Macao Foundation, and co-organised by IFT and College of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University. The attending guests believed that the programme will enhance young people’s understanding of Tianjin and Mainland China, as well as to promote exchanges between Tianjin and Macao, which will help strengthen future collaborations between the two cities.

Consumer Council published Consumer Report issue no. 309 featuring test reports on baby food products and soy sauce

UM professor publishes Portuguese book on Macao’s casino gaming history
Prof Jorge Godinho, a visiting professor at the University of Macau (UM), recently published a book about Macao’s gaming history from 1849 to today, titled ‘The Casinos of Macau—History of the World’s Largest Gaming Market’. Written in Portuguese, the book was published by Livraria Almedina, the largest legal publisher in Portugal.

Residential property price index for February – April 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for February - April 2019 increased by 0.9% over the previous period (January - March 2019) to 265.9. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (268.0) and Taipa & Coloane (257.1) rose by 1.0% and 0.7% respectively.
