Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the number of newly incorporated companies fell by 45 quarter-on-quarter to 1,134 in the third quarter of 2024. Meanwhile, total value of registered capital of the new companies surged by 66% quarter-on-quarter to MOP255 million, due to the incorporation of many pharmaceutical and related companies with relatively large capital. There were 234 companies dissolved in the third quarter, a decrease of 131 quarter-on-quarter. Number of companies showed a net increase of 900, up by 86 quarter-on-quarter.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the total population of Macao at the end of the third quarter of 2024 (686,600) increased by 5,300 year-on-year, due to a rise in the number of non-resident workers living in Macao. As regards the gender distribution, the female population (368,300) exceeded the male population (318,300), accounting for 53.6% of the total.

The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) has today announced the list of Decorations, Medals, and Certificates of Merit awarded for 2024 by the MSAR. There are 32 recipients, either individuals or organisations, and the awards recognise respectively, achievement, outstanding contribution, and distinguished service.

The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will organise a delegation to attend the 7^th China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November, and will set up the “Macao and Portuguese-Speaking Countries Food and Beverage Pavilion” and the “Portuguese-Speaking Countries Professional Service Pavilion” at the event. 39 Macao enterprises will promote Made-in-Macao, Macao brands, food and beverages from Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs), as well as professional services such as taxation, translation, investment consultancy, and product processing in these two themed pavilions, including the halal brands and the “M Brand” quality Macao products.
