Joint announcement of the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government on RMB-denominated sovereign bond issuance in Macao by the Central Government

The Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government jointly announced today (9 July) the issuance of RMB-denominated sovereign bonds totalling RMB 6 billion in Macao by the Central Government on 16 July 2025. The continued issuance of RMB-denominated sovereign bonds in Macao demonstrates the Central Government’s support for the MSAR Government in expediting the cultivation of bond market and other new financial businesses, thereby advancing the appropriate diversification of the economy. This marks the fourth consecutive year of RMB-denominated sovereign bond issuance in Macao by the Central Government, with a steadily increasing issuance size, which is conducive to further optimising a regular issuance mechanism, providing investors with a secure and stable investment option. It also serves as an active force in enhancing Macao’s bond market infrastructure, diversifying the investor structure, as well as expediting the connection with international markets.


DSEDT explores international business opportunities in Portugal and France with cross-border e-commerce sector

To promote the development of Macao’s cross-border e-commerce (CBEC) sector and to enhance international exchange and cooperation with a view to leveraging Macao’s role in connecting with both the Mainland and the world, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) organized for the first time a delegation of Macao’s CBEC sector representatives to visit Portugal and France in early July to explore new opportunities for CBEC cooperation through exchanges with local business associations and sectors, live streaming, and store visits.

The Macao Orchestra 2024-25 Concert Season Closing Concert “Lio Kuokman and Kun-Woo Paik” will be held on 27 July (Sunday) at 8:00 p.m, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium . Internationally acclaimed South-Korean pianist Kun-Woo Paik will join forces with the Macao Orchestra, under the baton of the orchestra’s Music Director and Principal Conductor Lio Kuokman, to present a series of magnificent works, offering music lovers an unforgettable evening. Tickets are now available through the Macao Ticketing Network.



City beautification and sanitation working group to hold beach cleaning activity on Saturday, calling for the public to “take your trash with you”

The environmental hygiene task force under the city beautification and sanitation working group will hold the “Beautiful and Clean Beach - Take Your Trash with You” activity at Hac Sá Beach on 12 July, inviting representatives from multiple departments, organisations and institutions to jointly clean up trash on the beach and remind the public to love the beach environment through actions. There will be multiple game booths on the spot to promote a series of environmental hygiene information. Members of the public are welcome to bring their children to participate in the activity.



Renovation and repair works of boardwalk in lower level of Sai Van Lake Square to begin this Saturday

The boardwalk in lower level of Sai Van Lake Square is built along Sai Van Lake near the side of Macau Tower to provide the public and tourists with a leisure area near the lake. It has been completed and used for over 20 years. The condition of the wooden platform has become unsatisfactory, with the base supporting the wooden planks damaged, the wooden planks broken, the mounting bolts rusted and some structures worn out due to prolonged use. To ensure the safety of users, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will begin works to replace the wooden planks, repair the basic structure and mounting bolts, renovate and paint, etc. from this Saturday (12 July) on the basis of keeping the original design. The renovation and repair works are expected to take 120 working days and anticipated to be completed before November. The public are advised to take note that the area of the boardwalk will be enclosed in phases during this period.


Exhibition of entries from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Observation Competition to be held next Wednesday in activity room of Flower City Park

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will hold the “Collection of Winning Entries of the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Observation Competition” storytelling drawing exhibition at the activity room of Flower City Park in Taipa from 11 July, displaying 50 winning entries and allowing the public to appreciate the world of nature recorded by the participants with drawings and words.
