CE visits local neighbourhoods to assess community economy

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, today paid a visit to Patane Market, the Ilha Verde district, and the Fai Chi Kei neighbourhood to evaluate the local business environment. He also visited the former Yat Yuen Canidrome site to review plans for its redevelopment into a proposed Citizens’ Sports Park.



CE to visit six Greater Bay Area cities

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, will lead a delegation of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government to visit, from Sunday (22 June) to Tuesday (24 June), six mainland cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, namely Shenzhen, Huizhou, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Zhaoqing, and Foshan.





The “2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival” is calling for local entries to the “Macao Shorts” section

In order to encourage local film production talent, build a repository of local short films, and expand opportunities for international exchange and collaboration, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and the Galaxy Entertainment Group jointly organise the “2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival” (hereinafter referred to as the “GEG Macao International Shorts Film Festival”). The call for Macao short films is now open until 21 July. All Macao residents are invited to submit their works, and winners can receive a trophy and cash prize up to MOP45,000.


Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale opens at West Exhibition Hall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing

Organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and presented by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and the China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd., the“Hong Kong-Macao Visual Art Biennale”is held from 18 June to 13 July at theWest Exhibition Hall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, showcasing the contemporary cultural landscapes and artistic spirits of the three regions.


UM holds international symposium on biomedical sciences

The 11th Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences (MSBS), organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Macau (UM) and co-organised by UMTEC Limited, kicked off today (20 June) at UM. The two-day symposium, themed ‘Scientific Impact’, features 35 presentations. It has brought together over 400 experts, researchers, and students in biomedical sciences from around the world to explore innovations and future developments in the field.


IAM continues to protect the health of mountain forest on Guia Hill

To protect the health of the forest area on Guia Hill, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) carried out vine removal and forest protection work in phases section by section in Guia Hill Municipal Park starting from mid-March. In addition to vine removal, plants with poor growth and domestic garbage have also been handled. The phases have been completed in late May. IAM will continue to carry out relevant forest protection work and slow the growth of vines, so as to safeguard the health of the mountain forest on Guia Hill.
