Statistical Data on Anti-illegal Worker Operations in September 2024

Concerning the Public Security Police Force’s operations and the Labour Affairs Bureau’s operations as well as various joint operations against illegal workers in September 2024, the figures are set out below:


Visitor arrivals for the first three quarters of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals increased by 30.1% year-on-year to 25,920,914 in the first three quarters of 2024, recovering to 85.8% of the number in the same period in 2019. Same-day visitors (13,834,674) and overnight visitors (12,086,240) grew by 42.8% and 18.1% year-on-year respectively. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors remaining unchanged at 2.3 days.


Today, Money is Credited to the Accounts of the Second Batch of People Approved Withdrawing Funds of the 2024 Fund Allocation to the Central Provident Fund’s Individual Accounts

The second batch of people approved withdrawing funds of the 2024 fund allocation to the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System’s government-managed sub-accounts will start receiving the funds today (23 October). There are 8,062 people in total.



Cultural Affairs Bureau organizes creative handicraft workshops at the Tap Siac Craft Market

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market will be held from 14 to 17 November and from 21 to 24 November at Tap Siac Square. 64 creative handicraft workshops will be held, including 11 sessions for families. The workshops include ceramics, glass, miniature, painting and leather, integrating fun, creativity and crafts. All interested parties are welcome to participate.

The concert featuring the renowned Cape Verdean singer Tito Paris and the Macao Chinese Orchestra, as part of the 6th "Encounter in Macao: Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries," will be held on November 15th at 8:00 PM at the Grand Auditorium of the Macao Cultural Centre. Tickets will be available for public sale starting from 23 October.

The Chinese, Portuguese and English electronic edition of Macao Yearbook 2024, which is compiled by the Government Information Bureau (GCS) of the Macao SAR, is published today (22 October).


【Multi-destination travel to Macao and Zhuhai】MGTO arranges for overseas tourism offices’ representatives in Hong Kong to inspect island resources for international market expansion

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) arranged for a delegation of overseas tourism offices’ representatives based in Hong Kong to pay a familiarization visit to Dong’ao Island and Guishan Island in Zhuhai on 18 and 19 October, to learn more about the unique tourism resources and appeal of the islands. The visit aims to raise the awareness and promotion of multi-destination island tour routes and products in Macao and Zhuhai in international tourism markets, in turn tapping into international markets and attracting international visitors to Macao and Zhuhai for island travel.


50% of Employers Not Yet Paid Contributions, FSS Calls on People to Make Use of “Business & Associations Platform” and “Macao One Account” for Making Payments as Soon as Possible

As of 21 October, about 12,500employers have not yet paid Social Security System’s obligatory system contributions for their employees for the third quarter of 2024, accounting for about 50% of the total employers who need to pay contributions. As the payment deadline approaches and the flow of people at the service points increases, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) calls on employers and residents to make use of the “Business & Associations Platform” or the “Macao One Account” for making payments as soon as possible, to avoid paying late and waiting in a queue.
