Government Headquarters Open Day sessions on 26 and 27 October

The Government Headquarters Open Day sessions will this year be held on Saturday, 26 October, and Sunday, 27 October, from 9am to 6pm.


Cultural Affairs Bureau calls for stall operators to participate in the “Craft Market in the Greater Bay Area” in Shenzhen

In order to strengthen exchange and cooperation in the cultural and creative industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and Shenzhen OCT-LOFT jointly organise the “Shenzhen T-Street Creative Mart x Macao Tap Siac Craft Market” and the participation of local cultural and creative entities in the Shenzhen market in December. Applications for stall operators and handicraft workshop are open from today until 17 October, and application is free.



Press meeting with the cast of the opera Tosca by Giacomo Puccini before the opening of the 36th Macao International Music Festival

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the opening performance Tosca – Opera in Three Acts by Giacomo Puccini, integrated in the 36th Macao International Music Festival, will be held from 4 to 6 October, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. The organiser held a press meeting today (3 October), in which the Director of the Festival’s programme, Lio Kuokman; singers from Mariinsky Theatre from Russia, including Tatiana Serjan, Najmiddin Mavlyanov and Vladislav Sulimsky, and the opera concert mistress Irina Soboleva, met with the media to share their thoughts about the show.


Monetary and financial statistics – August 2024

According to statistics released today (3 October) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply continued to grow in August. Meanwhile, resident deposits rose from a month ago whereas loans to residents posted a decline.


Be vigilant against fake “point expiry” SMS from fraudsters impersonating banks and telecommunication companies

Recently, multiple residents have filed reports with the Judiciary Police (PJ), claiming that they had received fake SMS messages purportedly from local banks and telecommunications companies. These SMS alleged that the customer’s points were about to expire and lured them to click the link embedded in the message. Upon clicking the link, they were redirected to a bogus webpage mimicking the bank or telecom provider’s websites. To redeem gifts at a low price, residents were instructed to enter their credit card details, which scammers later used for large, unauthorized transactions.

October is a Contribution Month, FSS Encourages the Use of Electronic Payment Channels

For the Social Security System, October is the third quarter of the 2024 contribution month. The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) has launched the "Make the Social Security Fund’s Payments" service on the "Business & Associations Platform" and "Macao One Account". Employers and arbitrary system beneficiaries can make their payments online, easily and conveniently.
