Presented by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), Macao Orchestra Company, Limited and SJM Resorts, S.A., the Macao Orchestra x Hong Kong Ballet: “The Butterfly Lovers” Ballet will be held at 8pm on 9 November and at 2:30pm on 10 November, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Adapted by the choreographer Hu Song Wei Ricky and his wife Mai Jingwen, the Ballet will be presented by the Macao Orchestra, featuring original score by acclaimed Chinese composer Tian Mi, who drew inspiration from “The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto”, offering an audio-visual artistic feast to the public.

The 47th WorldSkills Competition was held in Lyon, France, from 10 to 15 September, bringing together over 1,400 outstanding young competitors from around the world. After several days of intense competition, three Macao competitors trained by the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) won Medallions for Excellence, including two students from UTM, bringing honour to Macao.

The 23^rd Macao City Fringe Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be held in March 2025. The call for proposals for programmes and performance venues is now open, and all local artistic and cultural associations, curators, producers, independent artists and those interested in artistic creation are welcome to submit their proposals. Applicants are encouraged to show an innovative spirit and risk-taking attitude to break the barriers of traditional venues and to create works that highlight the characteristics and cultural connotations of the city. All those responsible for local venues are also invited to submit proposals for performance venues so as to provide exhibition or performance spaces for the Fringe Festival. The call for submission is from today until 5pm on 6 November 2024.

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) recently held a briefing session on the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System for the Property Management Business Association Macao, attracting nearly 50 members to participate, including the company management and personnel responsible for human resources. The FSS introduced them to the benefits of participating in the Central Provident Fund, and the process of joining it. The briefing session received a positive response from its attendees.
