IPIM and Industrial Association of Macau Organise Macao Enterprises to Participate in HKTDC Food Expo Unveiling Exceptional Business Opportunities Beyond Expectations
The "35th HKTDC Food Expo", hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, successfully concluded on 18 August. The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of Macao, in collaboration with the Industrial Association of Macau, organised ten Macao enterprises to participate in the event, establishing a Macao Pavilion and conducting six promotional exchange activities along with 236 business matching sessions, involving variousareas including big health and food agency and distribution, supply chain and retail channel expansion, new product development, food brand innovation, cross-industry collaboration, and alcoholic beverage trade. Participating Macao enterprises reached procurement agreements with companies from the mainland and Hong Kong, signing three letters of intent for co-operation involving contract manufacturing, new product collaboration, and supply agreements. Sales at the Macao Pavilion were robust, and the exhibition results exceeded expectations.

Withdrawal Application Required for Individuals Not Qualify for Automatic Payment but Are Eligible to Withdraw Funds from the Central Provident Fund
The 2025 Special Allocation from the Budget Surplus under the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System is expected to be distributed on 25 September at the earliest. Beneficiaries who have registered for automatic withdrawal and meet the eligibility criteria for automatic payment do not need to take any further action. The funds will be automatically deposited into the bank account currently used to receive old-age or disability pension payments. However, individuals who are eligible to withdraw funds but do not qualify for automatic payment can submit a fund withdrawal application to the Social Security Fund via the “Macao One Account” platform.

The 2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival opens in September with shorts connecting the world
The 2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as the “Macao International Shorts Film Festival”), jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), will be held from 14 to 21 September, featuring a variety of events including an opening ceremony and screenings, screening sessions, themed workshops, an industry forum, lectures by masters, as well as a closing and awards ceremony. The Festival strives to promote Macao’s film and television productions, fostering industrial diversification, and enhancing exchanges and cooperation between local and international film and TV sectors. The press conference was held on 19 August at the Galaxy International Convention Center in Macao, and was attended by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Leong Wai Man; the Vice Presidents of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Cheang Kai Meng and Choi Kin Long; the Vice President of Public Relations of Galaxy Entertainment Group, Annie Loi; and the Assistant Vice President of Media Relations of Public Relations of Galaxy Entertainment Group, Kam Leong; the member of the international advisory boardof Macao International Shorts Film Festival, Jeremy Chua. On the occasion, Leong Wai Man and Annie Loi presented certificates to the shortlisted entries in the section “Macao Shorts”.

CE in Nanjing visiting technological-innovation facilities
The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, today arrived in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, as part of an ongoing inspection and research tour. He visited several technology-related facilities, aiming to draw on Nanjing’s advanced experience in technological innovation and its commercialisation, while strengthening collaboration and exchanges for the two sides.
