Application are open for original fashion brands for the Macao Fashion Pop-Up Store
In order to promote Macao’s original fashion brands, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will collaborate with Galaxy Entertainment Group to set up a “Macao Fashion Pop-Up Store” at Galaxy Macau™ Integrated Resort from 9 to 18 November. Applications are open from today until 14 October at 5:45pm, and application is free. All local fashion brands are welcome to participate.

【Double celebrations】32nd Macao International Fireworks Display Contest culminates in splendor Chinese fireworks company brings championship home
Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the 32ndMacao International Fireworks Display Contest (“the Contest”) in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR culminated in splendor tonight (6 October) with the prize-giving ceremony. Ten fireworks companies from around the globe painted mesmerizing fireworks across the canvas of Macao’s sky on five evenings in September and October. After the intense competition,Dancing Fireworks Company from China won the championship, followed by Pyro-Klass Fireworks Company from Russia and Marutamaya Ogatsu Fireworks Co, Ltd. from Japan as the winners of silver and bronze.

“The Butterfly Lovers” Ballet to be presented in early November A new interpretation of the classic Chinese love story
Presented by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), Macao Orchestra Company, Limited and SJM Resorts, S.A., the Macao Orchestra x Hong Kong Ballet: “The Butterfly Lovers” Ballet will be held at 8pm on 9 November and at 2:30pm on 10 November, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Adapted by the choreographer Hu Song Wei Ricky and his wife Mai Jingwen, the Ballet will be presented by the Macao Orchestra, featuring original score by acclaimed Chinese composer Tian Mi, who drew inspiration from “The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto”, offering an audio-visual artistic feast to the public.

Macao University of Tourism (UTM) Team Wins Three Medallions for Excellence at the 47th WorldSkills Competition
The 47th WorldSkills Competition was held in Lyon, France, from 10 to 15 September, bringing together over 1,400 outstanding young competitors from around the world. After several days of intense competition, three Macao competitors trained by the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) won Medallions for Excellence, including two students from UTM, bringing honour to Macao.
