Cultural Affairs Bureau continues to offer discounts on the purchase of the Review of Culture at its Online Book Shop
In order to promote the unique and rich history and culture of Macao, the Cultural Affairs Bureau Online Book Shop continues to offer readers 50% and 10% discounts on the purchase of the Review of Culture this year. The periodical published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau aims to propel academic exchanges between Macao and other regions, promoting cultural exchanges between the East and the West, and exploring the unique characteristics of Macao as well as the history complemented by Chinese and Western cultures. Currently, the publication implements a peer review system, and the Chinese edition has been included in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI).

Announcement of the 42nd Macao Young Musicians Competition schedule
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the 42nd Macao Young Musicians Competition is dedicated to the categories of Chinese and Western instruments. The provisional Competition schedule will be available from 10am on 12 June on the Macao Young Musicians Competition website at www.icm.gov.mo/CJMM and on the competition system.

MSAR Government thanks Central Government for supporting Macao’s participation in national aerospace development

The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government sincerely thanks the Central Government for the strong support and great care it has shown in terms of Macao’s participation in the nation’s aerospace development work. Macao has also issued its congratulations on the successful completion of the selection process regarding the fourth batch of astronaut candidates for the country’s crewed space flight programme.

[Lasting Effect of Hot Sales] IPIM and Integrated Resort Jointly Promote Macao Products from 20 “Macao Ideas” Exhibitors and Local SMEs
The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Wynn Resorts (Macau), S.A. and the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau have jointly organised the “June SMEs Product Sales” at the back of house areas of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace from 4 to 7 June. A total of 20 “Macao Ideas” exhibitors and Macao small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were participated. According to exhibitors’ feedbacks, the event has provided a platform for local SMEs to promote products and to raise brand awareness, and they are satisfied with the footfall and sales performance.

Mortgage loans statistics – April 2024
According to statistics released today (11 June) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both increased month-on-month in April 2024. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines on a monthly basis.

Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – 2024 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races – China Nanhai Jiujiang successfully defends Open and Women’s titles of the Macao International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race
Organised by the Sports Bureau, SJM Resorts, S.A. and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China, and co-organised by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, the final race day of the ‘Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – 2024 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races’was held today (10 June) at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre. After several rounds of intense races, China Nanhai Jiujiang defended both the Open and the Women’s titles of the Macao International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race (500m), while Liaocheng University won the Macao University Student Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race (500m). Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng enjoyed the races on-site and hosted the eye-dotting ceremony and award presentation ceremony.

MGTO attends 63rd APEC Tourism Working Group Meeting in Peru to expand tourism and trade international cooperation
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) represented Macao, China, as a Guest Economy, to attend the 63rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Tourism Working Group (TWG) Meeting, held in Peru, and continue to engage in the activities of the organization. During the meeting, MGTO presented an update about the tourism industry in Macao and exchanged with representatives from other Asia Pacific economies, helping to raise the city’s profile internationally.
