2024 annual review of CPMV

Since its establishment in July 2023, the Council of Veterinary Medicine Professionals (CPMV) has been facilitating the implementation of various work related to the “Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals”, including formulating and approving the “Regime of Certification of Professional Accreditation of Veterinary Surgeons” and the “Code of Professional Ethics of Veterinary Surgeons”, carrying out certification of veterinary professional accreditation, initiating legal proceedings against veterinary surgeons who have violated their obligations, organising professional development activities, etc. Meanwhile, CPMV has launched a dedicated webpage to share the latest news and publish various administrative formalities, forms, frequently questions, guidance notes and other information, making it easier for the sector and the public to learn about its work.


IPIM and the Co-operation Zone Provide a Series of Business Facilitation Services to Assist Macao Enterprises in Completing Nearly 90 Commercial Registrations

To help Macao enterprises seize business opportunities arising from the development of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao Special Administrative Region, in collaboration with the Commercial Services Bureau of the Co-operation Zone, offers the "Cross-border Commercial Registration Facilitation Services for the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Co-operation Zone" (hereinafter referred to as: Cross-border Commercial Registration Facilitation Services). This service allows Macao enterprises to complete commercial registration procedures in the Co-operation Zone and obtain the relevant business licenses without leaving Macao in person, thereby reducing the time and economic costs for investors looking to invest and operate businesses in the Co-operation Zone.

Different governmental entities, tourism businesses and community organizations in Macao organized a diversity of fascinating festive events during the Spring Festival. Traditional festive vibes permeated the city as residents and visitors spent a wonderful time of Chinese New Year. visitors from different places experienced the diversity of “tourism +”, which manifested Macao’s charm as a cultural travel destination.


CE to attend opening of Asian Winter Games in Harbin

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, will from 6 to 8 February visit Harbin, in Heilongjiang Province. While there, he will attend the opening ceremony on 7 February of the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025, held at Harbin International Convention Exhibition and Sports Centre.


Arrangement of Postal Services to the USA

CTT Macao announces that the following postal services are suspended with immediate effect. Furthermore, postal services to the USA for documents, letters, airmail (including small packets, parcels, and EMS) will continue as usual.


Call for proposals by local parade groups for the “2025 Macao International Parade” Applications open from 5 February

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “2025 Macao International Parade” will be held on 23 March 2024 (Sunday). IC is now inviting all registered local associations, schools, institutes and organisations to submit proposals from 5 to 15 February. All interested local groups are welcome to participate.


UM Macao Humanities Forum discusses pedagogical grammar in international education of Chinese language

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) of the University of Macau (UM) held the Macao Humanities Forum, where Liu Lening, professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University, delivered a lecture titled ‘Pedagogical Grammar: Its Status and Formation in the International Education of Chinese’. The lecture attracted a large audience of faculty and students.


IAM optimises children’s play facilities in Flower City Park

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will initiate optimisation works of the children’s playground in Flower City Park from 10 February onwards. Play equipment for climbing and balance suitable for use by children aged 2 to 12 will be installed. During the work period, the children’s playground will be temporarily closed. The public are advised to pay attention to the above arrangement.

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, met with the President of the Legislative Assembly, Mr Kou Hoi In, and other members of the Executive Board of the Legislative Assembly.
