Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2024 highlights an atmosphere spiced by World Heritage and presents the beauty of museums

In order to celebrate the International Museum Day on 18 May, 22 museums in Macao co-organised the annual event of the museum sector, the “Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2024”. The event was held in a lively atmosphere and featured a wide range of intriguing activities, including dance performances, game booths, experience activities, workshops and online games, unleashing the charm of museums in the community, attracting the active participation of residents.


Xia Baolong to visit Macao

The Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the State Council’s Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Mr Xia Baolong, will visit Macao from 13 to 19 May, in order to get better understanding on the latest developments in Macao society and its economy.



MSAR Government response to U.S. report mentioning Macao

The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government expresses strong opposition to the unsubstantiated accusations by the United States of America, making reference to the United Nations Human Rights Council’s latest periodic review of Macao and amendments introduced to the city’s Law on Safeguarding National Security.


1+4 “Tourism + MICE”: PATA Annual Summit 2024 to open Wednesday (May 15) in Macao gathering tourism industry delegates from 30 countries and regions

Over 400 tourism industry delegates from 30 countries and regions will gather in Macao between Wednesday and Friday (May 15 to 17) for the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Annual Summit 2024. This is the first major PATA event held in Macao after the pandemic, providing the opportunity to showcase to participants from across the Asia Pacific region the new dynamic development of the destination as a world center of tourism and leisure.


CE hails addition of eight mainland cities to facilitated individual travel scheme

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today thanked the Central Government, on behalf the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government, for enabling eligible people from a further eight mainland cities to travel to Hong Kong and Macao under the facilitated individual travel (FIT) scheme, with effect from 27 May 2024.


CE meets with Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower to bolster ties

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today met with the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms Ida Fauziyah, to exchange views on how to strengthen cooperation between the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) and Indonesia in tourism and cultural affairs, and how to facilitate people-to-people exchanges between the two places.



Exhibition “Focus: Integration of Art between China and the West in the 18th-19th Centuries” was inaugurated

Under the patronage of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government and organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) of IC and the Guangdong Museum, with the support of the Hong Kong Museum of Art under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the large-scale exhibition “Focus: Integration of Art between China and the West in the 18th-19th Centuries” was inaugurated today (10 May) at MAM. The opening ceremony was officiated in a lively atmosphere by the Acting President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Cheang Kai Meng; the Chief of the Division of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR , Wang Huijie; the First-Class Investigator of the Sociocultural Museums and Relics Division, Sun Xuliang, representing the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province; the Director of the Guangdong Museum, Xiao Haiming; and the Director of the Hong Kong Museum of Art under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Maria Mok Kar Wing.


The 2024 Annual General Assembly of AICEP and XXXI AICEP Forum

The 2024 Annual General Assembly of the International Association of Portuguese-Speaking Communications (AICEP) and XXXI AICEP Forum were held at the Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel on 9th and 10th May respectively. It is co-organized by the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and CTM.
