【Diversify international visitations】 MGTO welcomes international cruise travelers to Macao to boost twin-destination tourism with Hong Kong
Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is dedicated to destination branding towards a new diversity of travel markets. The initiatives include launching the special travel offer tailored for international cruise passengers as great-potential consumers. The offer encourages international cruise visitors to join group tours to Macao during their stopover in Hong Kong, as cruises dock at the Hong Kong Cruise Terminal. The Macao group tour products are now on sale by 12 international cruise lines. The offer is set to expand the range of international visitations, boost twin-destination tourism with Hong Kong and tourist spending in Macao.

IAM urges the public not to consume a sausage product from the United States that may contain rubber pieces
The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) is informed of the announcement made by the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture warning that a sausage product under the American brand Johnsonville may contain rubber pieces. IAM is paying close attention to the incident and has issued a food alert to the local food sector without any delay, requiring members of the sector to put an immediate halt on the supply and sale of the relevant product if they have it in stock. Meanwhile, IAM has sent personnel to carry out inspection to businesses on the market and urges the public not to consume the relevant product.

Residential property price index for November 2023 – January 2024
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for November 2023 - January 2024 decreased by 1.1% over the previous period (October - December 2023) to 231.4, representing a decline for seven consecutive periods. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (231.2) and Taipa & Coloane (231.8) dropped by 0.9% and 1.6% respectively.

Four briefings on “Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals” to be held this month
As the Law No. 4/2023 “Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals” will come into effect on 1 April this year, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will hold four briefings in mid-March with the representatives from the Council of Veterinary Medicine Professionals, Project Assessment and Inspection Committee, Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau to explain to the sector the details of the conditions for certification of professional accreditation of veterinary surgeons and the code of professional ethics, and introduce the guidelines on relevant business activities, installation of establishments, etc. It is aimed to deepen the sector’s understanding of the details of the law and facilitate its implementation. Interested individuals can register for the briefings from now on through the platforms of Macao One Account or Business & Associations Platform.
