CE hails addition of eight mainland cities to facilitated individual travel scheme

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today thanked the Central Government, on behalf the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government, for enabling eligible people from a further eight mainland cities to travel to Hong Kong and Macao under the facilitated individual travel (FIT) scheme, with effect from 27 May 2024.


CE meets with Indonesia’s Minister of Manpower to bolster ties

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today met with the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Ms Ida Fauziyah, to exchange views on how to strengthen cooperation between the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) and Indonesia in tourism and cultural affairs, and how to facilitate people-to-people exchanges between the two places.



Exhibition “Focus: Integration of Art between China and the West in the 18th-19th Centuries” was inaugurated

Under the patronage of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government and organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) of IC and the Guangdong Museum, with the support of the Hong Kong Museum of Art under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the large-scale exhibition “Focus: Integration of Art between China and the West in the 18th-19th Centuries” was inaugurated today (10 May) at MAM. The opening ceremony was officiated in a lively atmosphere by the Acting President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Cheang Kai Meng; the Chief of the Division of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR , Wang Huijie; the First-Class Investigator of the Sociocultural Museums and Relics Division, Sun Xuliang, representing the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province; the Director of the Guangdong Museum, Xiao Haiming; and the Director of the Hong Kong Museum of Art under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Maria Mok Kar Wing.


The 2024 Annual General Assembly of AICEP and XXXI AICEP Forum

The 2024 Annual General Assembly of the International Association of Portuguese-Speaking Communications (AICEP) and XXXI AICEP Forum were held at the Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel on 9th and 10th May respectively. It is co-organized by the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and CTM.


IAM to hold activities to celebrate “International Children’s Day on 1 June” with children

To celebrate “International Children’s Day on 1 June”, the Civic Education Resource Centre managed by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will hold a series of activities of “Courtesy Living Children’s Fun Workshop” on Children’s Day. On 1 and 2 June, children accompanied by their parents can use the children’s electric cars in Montanha Russa Park and Chunambeiro Park and take the Guia Hill Cable Car free of charge for 2 consecutive days. Parents are welcome to take their children to participate in these activities and share a happy Children’s Day.


IAM continues to treat endangered ancient tree in S. Francisco Garden

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) continues to follow up on the condition of an endangered Lebbeck Tree in S. Francisco Garden. Height control pruning work will be carried out on the tree from 13 to 15 May. To ensure safety, the public are advised to refrain from entering the enclosed area during the pruning period to avoid accidents. IAM appeals to the public for their understanding and cooperation.


IAM holds “The Marvels of Flying Birds” special exhibition on birds

The Pavilion of Animal Specimens in Macao is holding “The Marvels of Flying Birds” special exhibition on birds to introduce their various unique structures evolved to adapt to their flying habits. The exhibition also showcases multiple specimens of local insects to complement the annual theme “World Migratory Bird Day—Protect Insects, Protect Birds”. Members of the public are welcome to visit the exhibition.


Mortgage loans statistics – March 2024

According to statistics released today (10 May) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) rose whereas those of commercial real estate loans (CRELs) decreased month-on-month in March 2024. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines on a monthly basis.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of“World Telecommunication and Information Society Day”

To celebrate the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Philatelic Shop of the General Post Office from 09:00 to 17:30 on 17th May 2024, to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “World Telecommunication and Information Society Day”.
