[Enhancing the Brand Awareness of Macao Products] 24 Macao SMEs Explore Business Opportunities at the “Asia Pacific Food Expo 2024” with over 250 Signature Products Participating Companies Sign Sales Contracts On-site
The “Asia Pacific Food Expo 2024” commenced on 6 December was held at the Singapore Expo for four consecutive days. At the event, over 250 “Made in Macao” and “Macao Brand” products from twenty-four (24) Macao small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were exhibited. Some of the Macao exhibitors engaged in the Big Health sector landed on deals Singaporean enterprises on the first day of the expo. According to some exhibitors, Macao products were very popular at the event, with some items sold out on the first day. And the Halal food, in particular, garnered favour among the attending trade visitors at the expo. Given that the “M Brand” certification serves as a trusted seal of quality for Macao products, several Macao exhibitors received business enquiries, further enhancing the brand awareness of “Made in Macao” and “Macao Brand” products in Southeast Asian and international markets.

DSEDJ organises an explanatory session for schools on Macao’s results in TIMSS 2023
On 4 December 2024, the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), the organiser of the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), released the study results of TIMSS 2023 at the fourth grade. Macao students scored 582 in mathematics, ranking 6th among the participating countries and regions with a score significantly higher than the international average of 503; Macao students scored 536, ranking 12th among the participating countries and regions with a score significantly higher than the international average of 494. 68% of the students reached the Advanced or High International Benchmark in mathematics, while 45% of them reached the Advanced or High International Benchmark in science.

Residential property price index for August – October 2024
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for August - October 2024 decreased by 0.4% over the previous period (July - September 2024) to 210.1. The index for the Macao Peninsula (204.8) dropped by 0.9% while that for Taipa & Coloane (231.0) climbed by 1.2%.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) updated attendees on the situation of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). MPU and Shanghai University of Sport Signed Agreement to Jointly Nurture Postgraduate Students

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, in line with the implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between universities in Shanghai and Macao in talent cultivation and scientific research, the Rector of MPU, Marcus Im, and the President of the Shanghai University of Sport (SUS), Mao Lijuan, signed a cooperation agreement on behalf of the two universities on 5th December to jointly nurture master’s students specialising in intelligent sports and health technology, as well as to cultivate talents for the “big health” and cultural and sports industries in Macao. The signing ceremony was attended by more than hundred teachers and students from the two universities.
