Pirelli presents Year of the Dragon Commemorative Tyre to Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee
“Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region – 71st Macau Grand Prix” was successfully held from November 14th to 17th this year. During the event, international renowned tyre company Pirelli presented a commemorative tyre to the Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee (MGPOC). The tyre was received by Ao Ieong U, MGPOC President and Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government.

In alignment with the strategy of promoting the appropriately diversified economic development, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has kept on conducting investment promotion in the mainland. Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for September 2024
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that receipts of the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments went down by 9.4% month-on-month in September 2024 after the summer holiday; receipts of Chinese Restaurants fell by 10.1% whereas those of Japanese & Korean Restaurants rose by 0.6%. In addition, sales of the interviewed retailers decreased by 16.5% month-on-month in September; sales of Cosmetics & Sanitary Articles Retailers, Leather Goods Retailers and Department Stores dropped by 28.7%, 23.9% and 22.3% respectively, while the sales of Motor Vehicle Retailers grew by 30.4%.

International banking statistics – September 2024
According to the statistics released today (18 November) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the proportion of international business in the local banking sector retreated in the third quarter of 2024. At end-September 2024, the share of international assets in total banking assets decreased to 83.2% from 83.4% at end-June 2024, while the share of international liabilities in total banking liabilities fell to 80.5% from 81.1%.
