MPU Badminton Team Wins Four Golds and One Silver in the 2024 Macao Open Badminton Championships

Co-organised by the Badminton Federation of Macau and Wynn Macau, the 2024 Macao Open Badminton Championships was held successfully. The Macao Polytechnic University Badminton Team demonstrated outstanding individual strength as well as stable teamwork, winning the championships in Women's Singles, Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. They also won the first runner-up in Mixed Doubles, achieving great success.


The Macao SAR and the Republic of Kazakhstan today signed visa waiver agreement

The signing ceremony of “Agreement between the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements” was held on 9th April in the Macao SAR. The Secretary for Administration and Justice, Mr. Cheong Weng Chon, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Shakhrat Nuryshev, signed the Agreement on behalf of their respective governments.


Electoral Affairs Commission to apply law-based principles in its work

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election will ensure various tasks for the sixth-term Chief Executive election are carried out in accordance with the Basic Law and the Chief Executive Election Law, following the principles of fairness, impartiality, and integrity, and in an orderly manner as prescribed by law.







Students and faculty of Xi’an Jiaotong University join study camp at UM to learn about Macao’s development

Students and faculty from Nanyang College of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) visited Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College (HFPJC) of the University of Macau (UM) to participate in the ‘Xi’an-Macau Twin Cities: Study Camp on Sustainable Development of Tourist Cities’. During the study camp, members from the two colleges explored Macao’s sustainable development strategy as a world centre of tourism and leisure.


Residential property price index for December 2023 – February 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for December 2023 - February 2024 decreased by 0.9% over the previous period (November 2023 - January 2024) to 229.4. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (229.2) and Taipa & Coloane (230.2) dropped by 0.9% and 0.7% respectively.
