Macao Orchestra 2024-25 Concert Season Kicked off with Romantic Incidental Music Highlighting the Charm of Classical Music and Award-winning Actress

Macao Orchestra 2024-25 Season Opening Concert “A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Sylvia Chang and Lio Kuokman” was presented on the evening of 31 August at Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, kicking off the new Concert Season with great fanfare. The Concert was so well received that additional seats had to be opened to meet the demand of the music enthusiasts.

Since 2020 till now, the Macao SAR Government has held Macao Weeks in ten cities namely Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Qingdao, Tianjin, Xiamen and Xi’an. In accord with the strategic plan for “tourism +” development, the Macao weeks have successfully incorporated destination marketing with collaborative promotion of investment opportunities in Macao and Hengqin, while embracing the opportunities unlocked by the Central Government’s favorable measures for Macao. The events have yielded great harvest in terms of attracting more Mainland tourists and businesses to Macao for vacation and investment opportunities respectively.


‘The Splendour of Chinese Bronzes’ exhibition to open at Macao Museum of Art next Friday, showcasing ancient bronzes from the National Museum of China collection

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, ‘The Splendour of Chinese Bronzes: Masterpieces from the National Museum of China’ jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the National Museum of China and implemented by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM) will open at MAM at 6 p.m. on 6 September. The exhibition will showcase over 150 ancient bronzes from the collection of the National Museum of China, including 28 national first-class artefacts such as the Bronze Nao (Musical Instrument) with Elephants Design, ‘Zuo Ce Ban’ Bronze Yan (Steamer), ‘Jing Bo’ Bronze You (Ritual Vessel), ‘Liu Nian Diao Sheng’ Bronze Gui (Ritual Food Container), and ‘Shi You’ Bronze Gui (Ritual Food Container). All are welcome to visit the exhibition and appreciate the exceptional appeal of these national treasures.
