UM launches Master of Science programmes in Construction Project Management and Smart Ocean Technology
The University of Macau (UM) will offer the Master of Science (MSc) programmes in Construction Project Management and Smart Ocean Technology in the 2024/2025 academic year. Providing cutting-edge knowledge about construction project management and smart ocean technology respectively, the programmes aim to cultivate more high-end industry professionals for Macao, accelerate the development of emerging industries, and contribute to the optimisation and transformation of Macao’s economic structure.

Secretary in Geneva for United Nations Human Rights Council meeting

Interdepartmental meetings to review concerts arrangements

The Government would convene a meeting of an interdepartmental task force, to review arrangements for a concert held during the two days of the past weekend at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium in Taipa, said the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Ms Ao Ieong U. Such review would help optimise the arrangements for future concerts.

Visitor arrivals for December 2023
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 2,943,930 in December 2023, up by 656.0% year-on-year and 13.9% month-on-month. Same-day visitors (1,485,901) and overnight visitors (1,458,029) leapt by 829.0% and 535.5% year-on-year respectively. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors dropped by 0.9 day year-on-year to 1.2 days; the duration for overnight visitors (2.2 days) decreased by 1.4 days whereas that for same-day visitors (0.2 day) remained steady.

The three-day event “2024 Macao-Guangzhou Products Fair” concluded today (21 January). As the event was held before the Lunar New Year, both number of visitors and their shopping demand surged significantly. Some of the first-time exhibitors, satisfied with the sales volume, reported that they sold out the products on the second day of the event, reflecting that “Made in Macao”, “Macao Brand” and products from Portuguese-speaking countries were popular among Guangzhou citizens and tourists visiting Guangzhou. Therefore, this event could increase their brand awareness and strengthen their confidence in expanding the Mainland market.
