MPU Organises Educational Training in Science to Enhance Capabilities of Secondary School Students in AI Drug Research

In order to cultivate the interest of Macao secondary school students in science, technology and artificial intelligence (AI), and to inspire them to understand the key applications of AI in drug discovery and healthcare, the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Driven Drug Discovery (AIDD) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) has launched a series of training and scientific research activities, which have been well received by secondary school students.


“Macao Craft Market @ Foshan Lingnan Tiandi” calls for booth operators

Co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) and Foshan Lingnan Tiandi, the “Macao Craft Market @ Foshan Lingnan Tiandi” will be held from 22 to 24 September at Lingnan Tiandi, Foshan City. Interested parties can apply through the “Craft Market Booth Operator Database” from 25 July to 7 August.


UM organises research activities for secondary school students to boost their interest in research

On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) organised the fifth and the sixth instalments of its science popularisation activity ‘The Pursuit of Research’, attracting over 70 students and teachers from 11 secondary schools in Macao. The activity provided an opportunity for the participants to visit the core facilities of FHS and conduct a series of hands-on experiments, with the aim of boosting students’ interest in health sciences and making the most of their summer break.



Be wary of bogus supermarket social media pages to avoid credit card details from being stolen

Judiciary Police (PJ) I.T. Crimes Division Anti-Fraud Coordination Centre has discovered that scammers created social media pages in the name of a supermarket in Macao. According to the page, those who leave comments can claim a "unique gift" by logging in to an unknown link and supplying personal information and credit card details.


“Art Macao” chief curator to host three lectures on thoughts behind curation process and updates on the international art scene

“Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2023”), the mega international cultural and artistic event of the city, will be inaugurated with an opening ceremony held at the Macao Museum of Art on 28 July (Friday). This year, the event has once again invited renowned artist Qiu Zhijie, the Vice President of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, to serve as the chief curator. He will host three lectures at the Auditorium on the 1st floor of the Macao Museum of Art, introducing to the participants the thoughts behind the curation process and the updates on the international art scene.

Foster tourism revival — Implementation rate of Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan reaches 86% in 2022

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) publicized the progress of implementation of the Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan (referred to as the “Master Plan”) in 2022. Under the concerted efforts of various public entities and the private sector, 76 out of 77 action plans have commenced by stage with relevant tasks in progress. Target goals are achieved for 66 action plans. The implementation rate is 86%, up by 4 percentage points from 2021.


IPIM Holds Two Sharing Sessions to Expand Mainland Market for Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products on E-Commerce Platform

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) held the first “RED Application Skills Sharing Session for SMEs of China and PSCs” at the China-PSCs Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex on 20 July, and launched its live stream concurrently, bringing together more than 1,000 enterprise representatives to discuss on how to tap into the mainland market with livestream selling and through social media platforms.
