Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for June 2023

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 131 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in June 2023, an increase of 10 year-on-year. Total number of available guest rooms grew by 15.7% to 43,000. The average occupancy rate of guest rooms in June rose by 44.4 percentage points year-on-year to 84.3%; the rates for 5-star (85.9%) and 2-star hotels (85.3%) outperformed the sector’s average, which showed respective growth of 52.3 percentage points and 27.0 percentage points.


CE meets Rector of University of Lisbon to discuss further higher education collaboration

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, met with the Rector of the University of Lisbon, Mr Luís Ferreira, at the Government Headquarters in Macao. They exchanged views on deepening cooperation respectively in scientific research, teaching, the training of talented people, and promoting the development of higher education in the two places.

Tap Siac Craft Market calls for co-branded products until mid-August

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the Tap Siac Craft Market is now calling for co-branded products on the occasion of its 15th anniversary. Selected participants can design and produce co-branded products for sale with the “Craft Market” logo and will be qualified as a booth operator in the Tap Siac Craft Market this autumn. The call is open from 27 July to 17 August. All local cultural and creative practitioners are welcome to join.
