‘Patriots governing Macao’ key to advancing electoral work

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election will strictly adhere to the Legislative Assembly Election Law, especially its principle of “patriots governing Macao”, to advance various election-related tasks in a planned manner.


Artistic echoes from Venice to Macao “Above Zobeide” opens on Friday in Macao

Organised by the Macao Museum of Art, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, “Above Zobeide – Art from Macao at the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia” will be inaugurated on 7 March at 6:30pm on the first floor of the Macao Museum of Art. Jointly created by young Macao artist Wong Weng Cheong and curator Chang Chan, who represented Macao, China at the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2024, the exhibition will present outstanding works to the general public.



Monetary and financial statistics – January 2025

According to statistics released today (3 March) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply continued to grow in January 2025. Meanwhile, resident deposits edged up from a month ago whereas loans to residents posted a decline.



CE to attend opening of National People’s Congress in Beijing

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, will visit Beijing from today until Thursday (3 to 6 March), and will attend on Wednesday (5 March) the opening of the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress.


Legislative Assembly Election to be held on 14 September

The date for the eighth Legislative Assembly Election has been set as 14 September 2025, according to Executive Order No. 8/2025, published today in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Gazette.


CE meets Rector of United Nations University and UN Under-Secretary-General

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, today met with the Rector of the United Nations University and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Tshilidzi Marwala. They exchanged views on the topics of industrial technology innovations and their application.



CE meets Vice Minister of General Administration of Customs

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, met with Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs, Mr Wang Lingjun. The meeting was to exchange views on topics such as accelerating the appropriate economic diversification of Macao, and promoting the next phase of the construction of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
