CE meets Guangzhou officials to bolster cooperation

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today met with leading officials of Guangzhou, in Guangdong Province, to exchange views on deepening cooperation between Guangzhou and Macao, and on promoting inter-industry development, as well as development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Chief Executive, Mr Ho Iat Seng, today said Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) will fully cooperate with the work of the Organising Committee of the 15th National Games, joining hands with Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to ensure the smooth progress of all preparations for the event.





Macao Polytechnic University joins Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance, promoting the cooperation and development in education in the Greater Bay Area

In order to promote communication, collaboration and resource sharing in the field of creative arts in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, while enhancing the level of cooperation in the creative arts among the three places and bringing together the research strengths of elite universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the field of creative arts, Macao Polytechnic University, Sun Yat-Sen University, South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, and The Education University of Hong Kong jointly signed the "Agreement on the Formation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Creative Arts Alliance" under the framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance.


Mortgage loans statistics – February 2024

According to statistics released today (11 April) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased month-on-month in February 2024. With regard to the outstanding balances, RMLs dropped whereas CRELs witnessed an increase on a monthly basis.

Co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Macao Orchestra Company, Limited and Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, Macao Orchestra’s concert “Violin Prodigy Christian Li” will be held on 13 April (Saturday), at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, featuring emergent violinist Christian Li, only aged 16. The concert received an enthusiastic public response and tickets sold out quickly after going on sale.

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the Economic Development Bureau, the Financial Development Bureau, the Commercial Services Bureau, the Finance Bureau and the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin (the “Co-operation Zone”), had a working meeting yesterday afternoon (2 April) to further optimise the implementation of the Prior Technical Meetings in the Co-operation Zone and the synergistic Macao-Hengqin investment promotion mechanism.


Executive Director of Board of Directors of IPIM Leong Wa Fong Takes Office

The inauguration ceremony of Executive Director of the Board of Directors of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Leong Wa Fong was held today (10 April) at IPIM’s office in the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Witnessed by Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong and Chief of Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance Ku Mei Leng, the ceremony was moderated by President of IPIM’s Board of Directors Vincent U, and attended by IPIM’s leaders and department heads.
