Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies announces at Travel Expo that its National Congress 2025 will be held in Macao

The National Congress of the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies 2025 will be held in Macao, it was officially announced yesterday (June 30) by the association in a ceremony at the 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo. Considered the main annual gathering of the Portuguese tourism industry, the congress is set to provide an opportunity to showcase Macao’s new “tourism +” offerings and help to boost the diversification of visitor source markets.


4 July 2023 Wealth Partaking Scheme 2023

The Macau SAR Government will continue to implement the “Wealth Partaking Scheme” in 2023, and the distributing arrangement is resumed back to its normal practice before the epidemic. The “Wealth Partaking Scheme 2023” will be launched from July 4 till August 4 through bank transfer or mailing cross cheque, of which distribute to 708,041 permanent residents and 35,347 non-permanent residents, with 10,000 patacas and 6,000 patacas respectively.


Genesis and Spirit – Showcase of Hainan Intangible Cultural Heritage inaugurated Revealing the splendid culture of Hanan Province

In order to celebrate the 2023 “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day”, to promote exchanges and cooperation between Mainland China and Macao in the field of protection of intangible cultural heritage, and to enable Macao residents to better experience the rich cultural essence of China, the “Genesis and Spirit – Showcase of Hainan Intangible Cultural Heritage”, presented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, co-organised by the Hainan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Centre, and supported by Galaxy Entertainment Group, was inaugurated in the evening of 30 June at the Mount Fortress Garden.




Macao Creative Pavilion participates in the Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) for the first time

The 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) is held from 30 June to 2 July at Halls A and B of Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao. The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has organised the participation of Macao’s cultural and creative entities in the exhibition for the first time as well as the establishment of the “Macao Creative Pavilion”, with the aim of showcasing various Macao’s IP brands, increasing the popularity of the IP brands and promoting diversified cross-disciplinary cooperation in “Tourism + culture & creativity”.

The 11th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (referred to as the “Expo” or “MITE”) grandly commenced today (30 June). This edition is the first to be held after the lifting of travel restrictions in Macao. Themed as “MITE connects the World”, the Expo once again welcomes tourism and related industry delegates from near and far to Macao. Committed to the Macao SAR Government’s development strategy of “1+4” adequate diversification, the 11th MITE presents six major highlights to support the trade to explore business opportunities and jointly create a new outlook for tourism.


Employment survey for March – May 2023

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that both the general unemployment rate (2.8%) and the unemployment rate of local residents (3.6%) for March - May 2023 held steady from the previous period (February - April 2023). Meanwhile, the underemployment rate dropped by 0.3 percentage points to 1.8%.
