The Consumer Council will provide special service from 21 to 25 January to accept consumers’ enquiries or complaints.


UM Faculty of Business Administration achieves AMBA re-accreditation

Following a rigorous assessment by panel members of the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau (UM) has officially received re-accreditation for a five-year term from the AMBA. With the AMBA re-accreditation, FBA maintains its triple crown accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), AMBA, and the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).


Opening hours arrangements of IAM facilities open to the public during Chinese New Year period

As 22 to 24 January (the first to third day of the Chinese New Year) are public holidays of Macao and 25 January is a compensatory rest day for government employees, the Macao Government Services Centre in Areia Preta and the Macao Government Services Centre in Islands in Taipa, as well as some of the facilities of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) open to the public, will be closed or have their opening hours altered in the mentioned period. The public are advised to pay attention to the respective arrangement.

Interest Income of the Year Distributed to Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System’s Government-Managed Sub-Accounts, Annual Interest Rate is About 1.75%

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) announced that the interest income for the year 2022 had been credited to the non-mandatory central provident fund system’s government-managed sub-accounts, with an annual interest rate of about 1.75%. To check the balance of the relevant sub-account, residents may use the “Macao One Account” to log in to the non-mandatory central provident fund information platform, the “Macao One Account” mobile app or online platform, and can also check the balance through a self-service machine.


Business climate survey on restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for November 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that receipts of the interviewed restaurants & similar establishments went down by 6.8% year-on-year in November 2022, with Chinese Restaurants and Local Style Cafes, Congee & Noodle Shops recording respective decreases of 13.5% and 6.8%. Meanwhile, sales of the interviewed retailers shrank by 33.1% year-on-year in November. Sales of Cosmetics & Sanitary Articles Retailers fell by 48.6%, while Department Stores and Watches, Clocks & Jewellery Retailers both posted a sales decline of 45.3%.


Macao Grand Prix Museum welcomes Spring Festival with a series of activities

The Macao Grand Prix Museum (the “Museum”) will present a range of festive activities during Chinese New Year including the “Explore the Guia Circuit” Bus Tour, “Year of the Rabbit Chinese New Year Promotion” at the souvenir shop, as well as the guessing game which spotlights the new exhibits to debut soon – wax figures of motor racers. The activities will enrich the experience of local and visiting museumgoers this Chinese New Year.


Macao Museum of Art holds the exhibition “Scenes of Life: Modern Paintings from the MAM Collection”

Organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition “Scenes of Life: Modern Paintings from the MAM Collection” is currently held on the second floor of MAM, featuring 60 works by 47 local and foreign artists, including 39 landscape and 21 figure paintings. The exhibits created in multiple techniques, including oil, acrylic, mixed media, sculptures, folding screens, and diverse styles, showcase the open-mindedness and artistry of Macao's creative production resulting from the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures.

Exhibition “The Blessed Land – Belief and Customs of Tou Tei in Macao” inaugurated Inheritance of intangible cultural heritage and promotion of traditional culture

Organised by the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the thematic exhibition “The Blessed Land – Belief and Customs of Tou Tei in Macao” was inaugurated on 18 January. The opening ceremony was officiated by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Leong Wai Man; the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Yin Rutao; the President of the Macao Foc Tac Temple of Horta da Mitra Association, Lo Seng Chung; the Chairman of the Tou Tei Temple (Patane) Mercy and Charity Association, Wong Wa Keong; the Chairman of the Macao Foc Tac Temple of Rua da Praia do Manduco Charity Association, Cheong Lai Chan; and the President of the Macau Temple Festival Cultural Promotion Association, Ip Tat.
