Tam Wai Fong inaugurated as Member of Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of IAM
Tam Wai Fong was sworn in as Member of the Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) today (26 February) in the Grand Hall of IAM. The swearing-in was administered by Cheong Weng Chon, Secretary for Administration and Justice, and witnessed by Lam Chi Long, Chief of the Office of the Secretary for Administration and Justice.

External merchandise trade statistics for January 2025
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that external merchandise trade totalled MOP11.90 billion in January 2025, down by 11.2% compared with MOP13.40 billion a year earlier. Total value of merchandise exports rose by 0.3% year-on-year to MOP1.13 billion, while total value of merchandise imports dropped by 12.2% to MOP10.77 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP9.64 billion in January.

Retail sales survey for the whole year and the 4th quarter of 2024
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the total value of retail sales decreased by 14.9% year-on-year to MOP71.99 billion in 2024. In the fourth quarter of 2024, value of retail sales totalled MOP18.51 billion, up by 11.6% as compared with the revised figure (MOP16.59 billion) in the third quarter but down by 8.6% year-on-year.

CCAC uncovers alleged falsification of attendance records and absence from duty by a chief of the Fire Services Bureau
The CCAC detected a case where a chief of an operational post of the Fire Services Bureau (CB) allegedly falsified attendance records in an attempt to conceal his absence from duty during his working hours.

Publishing entities must submit their publications to the Department of Public Library Management of the Cultural Affairs Bureau on time, according to the Macao Legal Deposit Regime
In order to ensure the proper collection, organisation and preservation of all publications published in the Macao SAR, as well as the establishment of statistical data relating to these publications, two copies of all works published in Macao must be submitted to the Department of Public Library Management of the Cultural Affairs Bureau within five days of publication, according to the Decree-law No. 72/89/M Legal Deposit Regime revised by the Law No. 26/2024, and Article 16 of Law No. 7/90/M Press Law. Publishers or entities engaged in similar activities that fail to submit the required copies within the specified timeframe may be subject to a fine ranging from 200 to 2,000 Macao patacas.
