UM experiential learning programme enhances international students’ understanding of Macao

The University of Macau (UM) held its inaugural Residential College Education Experiential Learning Programme ‘Empowering Your Future: Culture Immersion & Opportunity Exploration Experience in Macao’. The programme aimed to enhance its international students’ understanding of Macao and UM. A total of 30 UM international students and 10 student ambassadors from the university’s residential colleges participated in a variety of cultural activities and visits to explore the advantages and development opportunities in Macao and at UM.



MPU Students Win the First and Second Place in the 3rd Yunshan Cup International Interpreting Contest

The 3rd Yunshan Cup International Remote Interpreting Contest was jointly organised by the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey under the guidance of the Association of International Conference Interpreters (AIIC), China Academy of Translation, the Interpreting Committee of the Translators Association of China, and the Network on Assessment and Evaluation of Interpreting. Students from the Faculty of Languages and Translation (FLT) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) achieved outstanding results in the contest, taking the Champion and First Runner-up in the Portuguese category, fully demonstrating MPU’s excellence in the field of Chinese-Portuguese interpreting.


Social Security Fund Warns Residents to Beware of Phishing Messages

The Social Security Fund has clarified that it has not sent any text messages regarding the electronic review of social security accounts and has reported the incident to the Judiciary Police. Residents are urged not to trust or click on suspicious links.


MGTO taps into Southeast Asia market at international travel fair in Indonesia

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the travel trade participated in ASTINDO Travel Fair 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia in the latter half of February where the Office set up a mega Macao Pavilion to showcase Macao’s kaleidoscope of “tourism +” experiences and spotlight the destination appeal for Indonesian and Southeast Asian visitors.
