MGTO promotes Macao at PATA Travel Mart to expand international visitor source markets

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) together with local travel trade is promoting Macao at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2023 that officially opened today (October 5) in New Delhi, India, as part of the work to increment international visitors source markets. One of the highlights of the event, the 2023 PATA Gold Awards Presentation ceremony sponsored by MGTO, was also held today with Macao tourism industry operators among this year’s winners, with a total of five awards.


National Art Troupes Performance Season in Macao China National Symphony Orchestra and China National Opera House offer a feast of national music

Organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR Government, four concerts as part of the National Art Troupes Performance Season in Macao will be staged from 6 to 12 November at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, including “The Rhyme of China, the Music of Hometown – Concert of Chamber Music by China National Symphony Orchestra” and “China National Symphony Orchestra Forbidden City String Quartet Chamber Music Concert”, which are both presented by the China National Symphony Orchestra; “A Concert of Selected Operas of World Classics” and “Golden Lotus – Concert of Macao Original Songs”, which are both presented by the China National Opera House. These concerts allow the audience in Macao to enjoy a national musical feast on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Macao’s return to China. Tickets for the concerts will be on sale this Saturday (7 October) through the Macau Ticketing Network.

Registration for short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” open from today on

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the “hush! Beach Concerts” will be held from late October to early November at Hac Sa Beach, Coloane Village and in different areas across Macao. Registration for the short video competition “hush! 300 Seconds” will be open today and all music aficionados are welcome to participate.


October is a Contribution Month, FSS Encourages the Use of “Macao One Account” for Making the Payment

October is the contribution month of the third quarter of 2023 for the Social Security System. Employers may use the “Macao One Account” to pay obligatory system contributions for employees whose employment situation has no change or whose employment information has been reported through the Electronic Filing System, as well as the employment fee for non-resident workers. Beneficiaries of the arbitrary system may also pay contributions through the “Macao One Account” within this month.

The Macao's Meetings industry and Chinese culture inspired the 15th IFTM-UNWTO training programme participants

The 15th Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) - World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Training Programme concluded successfully on 23 September 2023. During the first three days, guided by speakers from prestigious institutions, including the Basque Culinary Center, Ducasse Paris, Academy of Gastronomy Japan, Indonesian Gastronomy Network, ROCKCHEF, Sun Yat-sen University, Macau Exhibition and Trade Association, MGM, Wynn Palace, as well as faculty from IFTM, participants engaged in discussions and gained knowledge on topics such as “Role of meetings industry” and “Vision of gastronomy tourism”. The subsequent two days were spent at the World Tourism Economy Forum, and the programme ended with technical tours and Chinese cultural experience activities.
