MGTO actively prepares to welcome visitors as Spring Festival Golden Week soon arrives

The Spring Festival Golden Week is about to unfold between 21 and 27 January 2023.The outlook is bright for visitor arrivals during the Golden Week with recent easing of Macao’s border measures.Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has beencarrying out avarietyof preparationstowelcome visitors. Great effortsare poured topromote and organize festivities, while more rigorous patrols are conducted. The Office maintains communication with industry operators to safeguardthe quality of tourism services. The above endeavors are made so that residents and visitors can enjoy a memorable Chinese New Year and the economy can regain momentum more readily.


Exhibition “The Blessed Land – Belief and Customs of Tou Tei in Macao” inaugurated Inheritance of intangible cultural heritage and promotion of traditional culture

Organised by the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the thematic exhibition “The Blessed Land – Belief and Customs of Tou Tei in Macao” was inaugurated on 18 January. The opening ceremony was officiated by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Leong Wai Man; the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Yin Rutao; the President of the Macao Foc Tac Temple of Horta da Mitra Association, Lo Seng Chung; the Chairman of the Tou Tei Temple (Patane) Mercy and Charity Association, Wong Wa Keong; the Chairman of the Macao Foc Tac Temple of Rua da Praia do Manduco Charity Association, Cheong Lai Chan; and the President of the Macau Temple Festival Cultural Promotion Association, Ip Tat.



IFTM extended cooperation with The University of Queensland Business School, Australia, in offering 1+1 dual master' s programme

Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) has been cooperating with The University of Queensland (UQ) since 2012. During these years, students from IFTM have participated in semester exchange to UQ and highly appreciated this learning opportunity.

Targeting Hong Kong market — Hong Kong – Macao Travel Trade Networking Seminar culminates in success

Targeting Hong Kong as a visitor source market, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) invited about 40 Hong Kong tourism industry leaders to Macao for a two-day familiarization trip. The Office also organized a Hong Kong-Macao travel trade networking seminar and luncheon today (16 January).
