Services of Sports Bureau added in One Account: individual online booking of sports facilities, enrollment of activities and application of SportEasy membership

To comply with the development of e-government, starting from 24 Nov 2022, Sports Bureau (ID) will add more services in Macao One Account, including individual online booking of sports facilities, enrollment of activities and application of SportEasy membership, providing more ways for the public to make reservation of public sports facilities and enroll fitness and recreational class of Sport for All. Together with the previously launched “online advanced booking of swimming ticket” and “online purchase of on-the-spot swimming ticket”, these new functions provide more convenience for residents to participate in sports and exercises.

UM holds Macao Humanities Forum on cross-gender theatrical performance
The University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) recently held the Macao Humanities Forum. The event featured Sun Mei, professor of the Department of Chinese Literature at Taiwan Central University, who delivered a lecture titled ‘On Cross-gender Performance’ on the internet. Involving both virtual and in-person elements, the event attracted nearly 200 participants, including faculty members and students of UM.

Innovative program and expanded coverage Light up Macao 2022 will come into the spotlight in December
Organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and in partnership with local enterprises, the event “Light up Macao 2022” will illuminate eight districts across Macao Peninsula, Taipa and Coloane with a kaleidoscope of light arts under the theme of “Dazzling Winter” from 3 December 2022 to 1 January 2023. The event weaves together Macao’s diverse gems of cultural tourism, public art and innovative technology to light up Macao through integration of “tourism +”. UM PhD student’s research discovery to help develop novel nonlinear optical devices
Wang Gang, a PhD student in the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME), University of Macau (UM), has discovered an abnormal nonlinear optics conversion in quasi-2D perovskite materials, which is a breakthrough in understanding the nonlinear optical absorption of low-dimensional semiconductors and will pave the way for the development of novel nonlinear optical devices such as all-optical switches and pulsed laser. The research results have been published in the internationally-renowned journal Nature Communications
