Visitor arrivals for June 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals declined by 36.6% month-on-month to 380,671 in June 2022, on account of the tightened cross-boundary measures between Zhuhai and Macao as local confirmed cases of coronavirus infection were reported in mid-June; the figure also represented a drop of 28.0% year-on-year. Numbers of same-day visitors (199,881) and overnight visitors (180,790) decreased by 36.2% and 15.9% year-on-year respectively. The average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.1 days; the duration for overnight visitors (2.2 days) went down by 0.7 day, whereas that for same-day visitors (0.1 day) remained unchanged.

Drainage staff of IAM unclogged drains in Red Code Zone overnight
The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) received a call for help last night (18 July) saying that the drains of a food establishment of Edf. Kat Cheong in Rua Dois do Bairro Iao Hon were blocked and there was a backflow of sewage, and immediately followed up on the issue. Since the location is within a Red Code Zone, IAM consulted the health departments about their opinions and had the drainage staff strictly abiding by the pandemic prevention guidelines and wearing protective equipment such as anti-epidemic clothing, face shields and masks as they carried out drainage inspection and clearance in the Red Code Zone overnight.

2022 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair postponed
The 2022 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair (2022GMBPF), which is jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and was originally scheduled for 29-31 July, is postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic and the SAR Government’s epidemic prevention and control measures. The exact date will be announced later.

IAS clarifies that exemption from city-wide COVID-19 testing must meet specific criteria

In response to cases of misinterpretation as to which recipient groups may benefit from the exemption from the Citywide Nucleic Acid Test, the Social Welfare Bureau hereby makes the following clarification:
seniors and persons with disabilities who are able to move freely must undergo the city-wide nucleic acid tests; ; only those seniors or disabled persons with mobility difficulties and require the assistance of others are eligible for the exemption from the 11th to 13th round Citywide Nucleic Acid Test. All residents bearing yellow Health Code are not entitled to the exemption.

Advice to reduce the transmission risk of COVID-19 in buildings
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre states that COVID-19 is mainly spread by droplets between people in close contact, by aerosol (such as tiny droplets produced during talking or coughing, or polluted particles raised by fan which can be suspended in air for a long time; a person can be infected in prolonged exposure to a high concentration of aerosol) between people staying in a confined or semi-confined space for a long time, or via indirect contact with surfaces of environment or objects.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre states that the 11th round of Citywide NAT Programme has been launched at 08:00 on 18 July. As of 08:00 19 July, a total of 1 tube of mixed samples has been tested positive.

Supplies delivery service of Edf. Yi Nam suspended today to facilitate nucleic acid tests of households
The Subsistence Team carries out screening and distribution of food packs and other supplies for the households in Edf. Yi Nam newly added as Red Code Zone this morning (19 July). As the Health Bureau has arranged for the households to undergo nucleic acid specimen collection at noon, the delivery service of life supplies sent by friends and relatives of the households in Edf. Yi Nam, originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., is supended. The households’ understanding is appreciated and they are advised to ask friends and relatives not to send supplies to the site today.
