China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Carnival Inauguration of offering game booths, demonstrations and stage performances of intangible cultural heritage for two consecutive days

On the occasion of the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” and to promote the concept of “Protecting and Appreciating Our Cultural Heritage Together”, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will hold the “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day Carnival 2022” at the Mount Fortress Garden and the Macao Museum today and tomorrow. The opening ceremony of the Carnival is held at 3 pm on 11 June today at the Mount Fortress Garden, during which various prizes of the “2021 Guided Tour for Children in Practice Project” are also awarded. The event also features a range of booths and performances of intangible cultural heritage, attracting the active participation of the public.

UM and Alibaba successfully develop Fake Pictures Crusher

To raise the awareness of online security among internet users, researchers from the University of Macau (UM) and Alibaba Security have jointly developed Fake Pictures Crusher, an image tampering detection technology, and has made it available to the public. It is expected that this technology will help to promote the development of innovative technology and provide solutions for relevant social problems. The techniques involved will be presented at the IEEE/CVF Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference (CVPR), a top conference in the field of artificial intelligence with an acceptance rate of about 5 per cent.


Macao and Zhuhai Join Hands to Nurture Business and Trade Co-operation in Technological Sector

With the theme “Macao-Zhuhai Co-operation for Development”, a software and integrated circuits industry business exchange event was held on 10 June. The event was held in two venues simultaneously in Macao and Zhuhai, where industry representatives from the two cities shared their insight on business and investment. Representatives from the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) attended the event at the main venue in the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin to introduce Zhuhai entrepreneurs to the business environment and advantages of Macao, with a view to driving forward the development of technology and innovation, and expanding the scope of co-operation between the two places.


Temporary closure of Cheoc Van Swimming Pool

Due to recent inclement weather and the low-lying and coastal location of Cheoc Van swimming pool, the pool drain is blocked and not functioning properly. As emergency inspection and repair work needs to be carried out immediately, Cheoc Van swimming pool will be temporarily closed from today until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by the immediate closure.
