CE mourns Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II

The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), Mr Ho Iat Seng, expressed deep condolences over the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who devoted her whole life to Britain and to the British people. She was greatly respected and loved by the British people.

The Consumer Council continues to conduct price survey on various kinds of products to enhance price transparency and survey result reveals price differences in different retail outlets. Consumers are suggested to use the data published by the Council for price comparison.


Renovation works on the interior of the Macanese Living Museum of Taipa Houses are completed

The renovation works on the interior of the Macanese Living Museum of Taipa Houses, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), have been completed recently. The work mainly includes the repair and renovation of interior walls, doors and windows, and pavements, in order to preserve Macao’s architectural heritage and improve the atmosphere of the Museum.


Macao Museum of Art invites artist Zhao Zhao to hold various artistic activities in Macao

Organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition “Zhao Zhao: A Long Day” is currently held on the first and second floors of MAM. In order to enhance the public’ understanding of the exhibition, MAM has invited artist Zhao Zhao and curator Cui Cancan to Macao to hold a series of activities from 16 to 17 September, including a vernissage, a sharing session and an online artist’s tour, presenting innovative ideas in contemporary art.

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released survey results of Manpower Needs and Wages of the Gaming Sector for the second quarter of 2022. Survey coverage excludes junket promoters and junket associates.


Performance to Celebrate the 73rd Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China Tickets for the Contemporary Acrobatic Show “The Butterfly Lovers” are on sale

To celebrate the National Day with the public, the “Performance to Celebrate the 73rd Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China” – Contemporary Acrobatic Show “The Butterfly Lovers” will be held on September 30 and October 1, at 8pm, at Venetian Theatre. Limited tickets are still available and holders of a valid Macao Resident Identity Card will be offered a 50% discount on tickets. All are welcome to purchase and enjoy the performance.


Mortgage loans statistics – July 2022

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased in July 2022. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines.


UM, China Southern Power Grid build joint laboratory to promote research and development of carbon-neutral power and energy systems

The University of Macau (UM) and China Southern Power Grid Co, Ltd (China Southern Power Grid) today (8 September) signed a collaboration agreement online on the establishment of the China Southern Power Grid – University of Macau Joint Laboratory of Smart Power and Energy for Carbon Neutrality and held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the laboratory. Through university-enterprise collaboration, the joint laboratory will give full play to the strengths of both parties, carry out scientific and technological research, talent training, and industrial promotion in the field of carbon-neutral smart power and energy systems, realise the deep integration of industry, universities, and research institutes, and promote innovation and development of the power and energy industry in Macao, the Greater Bay Area, and across China.
