Successful conclusion to the 2025 MGM Macao International Regatta

The 2025 MGM Macao International Regatta, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, MGM, and Ursa Major Sailing Event Management, co-organized by the Marine and Water Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macau Sailing Association, supported by the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and partnered with the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT), officially concluded today (January 12).

UM rector attends Annual Presidents Meeting on Building World-Class Universities in Harbin

Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), attended the Annual Presidents Meeting on Building World-Class Universities and Annual Presidents Forum of Association of University Presidents of China held in Harbin today (10 January). The event brought together presidents of member universities of the Association of University Presidents of China (C9 League+) to discuss ways to build world-class universities with Chinese characteristics.


IAM holds monthly talk on adoption of dogs and cats to promote adoption instead of purchase

To promote the dog and cat adoption service of the Municipal Kennel and raise pet owners’ awareness of their obligations, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will continue to organise the Sharing Talk on Adoption of Dogs and Cats with animal protection groups every month. The activity will be held in Mong Ha Eco-Centre. Interested individuals can register for participation through Macao One Account from today onwards. The public are encouraged to show their support with actions and adopt animals instead of purchasing them, so as to help more animals find new and cosy homes.


Tourist price index (TPI) for the 4th quarter of 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the average Tourist Price Index (TPI) for 2024 went up by 3.15% year-on-year to 146.23, on account of dearer prices of jewellery and clothing, as well as rising charges for restaurant services. Analysed by section of goods and services, price indices of Miscellaneous Goods, Clothing & Footwear and Restaurant Services grew by 9.86%, 5.66% and 3.8% year-on-year respectively, whereas the index of Entertainment & Cultural Activities (-13.76%) showed a fall.


Mortgage loans statistics – November 2024

According to statistics released today (10 January) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) decreased whereas those of commercial real estate loans (CRELs) rose month-on-month in November 2024. With regard to the outstanding balances, both RMLs and CRELs witnessed declines on a monthly basis.
