IAS strongly urges the elderly to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible

The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) is highly concerned about the positive results of unvaccinated elderly people in the citywide nucleic acid tests. As elderly people may be infected by their family members or caregivers even if they stay at home, IAS strongly urges those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible to protect their health and safety.


SAR Government conducts outreach Nucleic Acid Testing for people with mobility difficulties

In conjunction with the mass nucleic acid testing, as of today the Social Welfare Bureau and the Health Bureau are providing home-based nucleic acid testing services for people in the community with reduced mobility (for example, people who are permanently bedridden, people with serious medical conditions and people with reduced mobility).

Citywide NAT Programme has ended. Those untested must take a self-paid test by 15:00 today. Overdue untested ones will be assigned a Yellow Code

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre stated that the latest Citywide NAT Programme started at 12:00 on June 19 and ended at 12:00 on June 21. 677,586 samples were collected in total and among which, 542,692 negative results are out already; Besides, as of 12:00 today, twenty-one preliminary positive cases in the 10-in-1 mixed samples are detected.


IAM extends submission deadlines for public tenders

The public tenders of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) for multiple municipal services and construction projects are underway with certain submission deadlines set as this week. As the public service departments of the SAR Government have suspended their services on 20 and 21 June to facilitate the prevention and control work of the novel coronavirus, IAM has decided to extend the submission deadlines for the public tenders to give interested suppliers reasonable amount of time to submit their tenders, as a way to minimise the impacts on the tender periods. The adjusted submission deadlines will be announced with further notice.


Measures of red-coded zones and yellow-coded zones

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) stated that, in view of the confirmed case in Macao on 18 June, the Centre has followed the “zone-specific, multi-level targeted approach to epidemic prevention and control”, quickly implemented closure and control measures according to the levels of risk. Different areas have been classified as “lockdown zones” (red-coded zones) and “precautionary zones” (yellow-coded zones), with a tentative quarantine period of 7 days. The number of days for quarantine may be adjusted to 10 days, depending on whether there are more cases in Macao during the quarantine period.


As at 9:00 am, 654,348 people were sampled for COVID-19; 488,721 people have a negative result

Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Response Coordination Center) stated that this round of the citywide nucleic acid testing started at 12:00 noon on 19 June. As at 9:00 am on 21 June, 654,348 people have been sampled, of which 488,721 people obtained a negative result. Besides, as at 9:00 am, a total of 16 “10 mixed 1” samples were preliminarily tested positive.


47 positive cases and 1502 persons followed-up in total
