IFTM students support a local F&B company via their visual merchandising and digital marketing skills
To provide hands-on learning opportunities to students at the IFTM Tourism Retail and Marketing Management Programme, an industrial project was designed to help a newly established food and beverage company called Sol Garden. By applying their visual merchandising knowledge, students produced 15 seconds and 30 seconds social media styled videos and uploaded on four social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Little Red Book and Douyin.

Tourist price index (TPI) for the 4th quarter of 2021
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Tourist Price Index (TPI) for the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 0.73% year-on-year to 119.07, on account of rising charges for restaurant services; yet, reduced prices of handbags offset part of the increase. Among the various sections of goods and services, the price indices of Restaurant Services (+4.03%) and Entertainment & Cultural Activities (+3.97%) recorded marked year-on-year growth, while the indices of Clothing & Footwear (-2.37%) and Miscellaneous Goods (-1.57%) showed decreases.

UM Open Day to be moved online
The University of Macau (UM) Open Day has been a popular activity among Macao residents and has drawn many visitors over the years. Because of the epidemic, this year’s event to be held on 16 January (Sunday) will be moved online. Students, parents, and friends from Macao and overseas can participate in the Open Day activities online anytime, anywhere, between 11:00am and 5:00pm. Applications now open for Bank of China Trophy One Million Dollar Macao Regional Entrepreneurship Competition
The 2022 Bank of China Trophy One Million Dollar Macao Regional Entrepreneurship Competition, hosted by the University of Macau (UM), is now open for applications. All students currently studying at tertiary institutions in Macao and Macao residents studying at higher education institutions outside Macao are eligible to apply. The cash prize for the Macao regional competition is more than MOP 110,000. The top three winners of the regional competition will advance to the final for a chance to win RMB 1 million and obtain further funding.

The 2022 MGM Macao International Regatta to set sail tomorrow
The 2022 MGM Macao International Regatta, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Ursa Major Sailing Event Management, co-organized by the Marine and Water Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macau Sailing Association, supported by the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Zhuhai Municipality, and title-sponsored by MGM, will be held from 13 to 16 January 2022. 35 teams will compete for the championship title in three different competitions.

21st Macao City Fringe Festival inaugurated starting an exceptional journey of art
The opening ceremony of the 21st Macao City Fringe Festival, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), was held this afternoon (12 January) in the Leisure Area in Rua Oito do Bairro Iao Hon. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Mok Ian Ian; representatives of the participating art groups of this edition of the Fringe Festival; the Head of the Department of Performing Arts Development, Iu Wai Man; and the Acting Head of the Division of Performing Arts, Tong Pui I, followed by the successive launch of a number of programmes, featuring games with various themes for public participation. Adopting the concept of “All around the city, our stages, our patrons, our artists”, the Fringe Festival reaches out to the community and opens a broader door to the art world for audiences from all walks of life.
