Fierce competition on the second day of the 2022 MGM Macao International Regatta

Participating teams resumed the conquest for the title on the second day of the 2022 MGM Macao International Regatta. Unpredictable wind speed and direction plus high waves presented challenges to all teams involved. Guangxi Beihai Big Boys Sailing Team, Hua Yun Health Care Sailing Team and Wind Chaser won the second daily award of the Macao Cup International Regatta (Beneteau First 40.7 unified design group), the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta (IRC group) and the International Catamaran Invitational (Hobie 16 unified design group), respectively.

UM’s first online Open Day to be held this Sunday

The University of Macau (UM) will hold its first online Open Day on 16 January (Sunday), to provide the public with the latest information on admissions, educational features, and research results through a variety of activities, including an online opening ceremony, talks, course consultation, exhibitions, games, and a lucky draw. Students, parents, and friends from Macao and overseas are welcome to participate online from 11:00am to 5:00pm on that day.


The 2022 entrance exam for recommended students will be held as scheduled under strict epidemic prevention measures

The 2022 joint entrance exam of ordinary universities in mainland China for Macao’s recommended students (hereinafter referred to as "the recommended exam") will be held on this Saturday (15th, January) from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm at Kao Yip Middle School (Address: Av. Xian Xing Hai) under the premise of complying with the epidemic prevention regulations of the SAR government. The DSEDJ actively adopts various epidemic prevention measures and reminds candidates to pay attention to and comply with the measures.


IAM sets up bulky waste collection points in different districts before Chinese New Year

As Chinese New Year is approaching, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the cleaning contractor will set up over 130 bulky waste collection points in the different districts of Macao from January 18 to 31, for the public’s convenience to dispose of bulky waste and garbage resulting from spring cleaning. IAM urges the public to comply with the garbage collection work arrangements and do not dispose of garbage casually.


IPIM led Macao Delegation of MICE and Tourism Industry to Participated in CEFCO 2022 in Fuzhou

The 17th China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO 2022) was held from 12 to 14 January in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (hereafter referred to as IPIM) organised a delegation of 21 representatives from Macao’s MICE and tourism industries to Fuzhou to participate in the event, aiming to jointly promote the advantages of Macao's MICE industry and strengthen the exchange and co-operation in the MICE industry between Macao and the outside world.


MGTO continuously inspects catering establishments for proper posting of venue codes

In accord with Health Bureau’s measures of pandemic prevention, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) continues to carry out inspections on catering establishments and other licensed establishments under its supervision, ensuring that their venue codes are properly posted while reminding them to carry out pandemic prevention in accord with the latest pertinent guidelines of Health Bureau. MGTO will assist establishments which have difficulty in downloading or printing venue codes.


Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – December 2021

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP214.2 billion (USD26.67 billion) at the end of December 2021. The reserves decreased by 0.7% from the revised value of MOP215.8 billion (USD26.86 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-December 2021 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 88.0% of pataca M2 at end-November 2021.


The 2022 MGM Macao International Regatta starts today

The 2022 MGM Macao International Regatta, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Ursa Major Sailing Event Management, co-organized by the Marine and Water Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Macau Sailing Association, supported by the Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, and title-sponsored by MGM, officially started today until 16 January. 35 teams are competing for the championship title in three different competitions.
