UM holds International Night to promote cultural exchange

Industrial exports survey for the second quarter of 2025
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the surveyed manufacturers of the Industrial Exports Survey became slightly optimistic about the export outlook of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) for the next six months in the second quarter of 2025. Major exports in the second quarter included garments, pharmaceutical products, electronic products/electrical appliances, alcoholic beverages & tobacco and other metal products. Export prospects were better in the European Union (EU).

Gaming sector survey 2024
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, as tourism activities resumed steadily, the Gaming Sector showed a gradual recovery and recorded increases in both receipts and expenditure in 2024. Total receipts of the sector (including receipts from gaming and other activities) rose by 23.1% year-on-year to MOP231.45 billion.

The 2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as the “Macao International Shorts Film Festival”), jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), is held from 14 to 21 September. The event includes an opening ceremony and screenings, screening sessions, professional forums, thematic workshops, “In Conversation with Director” sessions and a closing and awards ceremony, presenting over 60 outstanding local and international short films, and offering audiences a diverse cinematic experience.

“Art Exhibition for All” of the 23rd Macao City Fringe Festival inaugurated presenting a range of programmes in various districts
Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “Art Exhibition for All”, integrated in the 23rd Macao City Fringe Festival, was inaugurated today (16 September) at the Flower City Park in Taipa. The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of the Department of Performing Arts Development, Kuok Mio U; the Head of the Division of Performing Arts of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Chan Shuk Mei; and representatives of art groups participating in this year’s Fringe Festival. A range of programmes are staged in various districts, upholding the concept of “All around the city, our stages, our patrons, our artists”, while introducing audiences diverse artistic experience.
