UM Open Day to be held in both Macao and Hengqin on 12 January

The University of Macau (UM) will hold the ‘Connecting Macao and Hengqin—UM Open Day 2025’ on 12 January (Sunday), from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Both the UM campus and the Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute will be open to the public. Visitors from Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are welcome to visit and participate in a variety of activities to explore UM’s latest developments and achievements, and to experience its diverse campus culture.


UM holds Macau International Conference on Business Intelligence and Analytics

The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau (UM) held the 2024 Macau International Conference on Business Intelligence and Analytics. The event brought together eminent scholars and researchers to discuss the latest developments in business intelligence and data analytics, fostering intellectual exchange and innovative collaboration.


Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs convenes a meeting to elect Chairman and Vice Chairman

The Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs convened a meeting on 2 January to elect the Chairman and Vice Chairman of 2025-2026 through internal voting in accordance with the stipulations of Article 14 of Law no. 9/2018 “Establishment of Municipal Affairs Bureau”. After voting by the members, Hoi Lok Man is the Chairwoman of the Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs and Kou Ngon Fong is the Vice Chairman.


Chairman Chao Wai Ieng and Vice Chairman Mak Kim Meng of Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs inaugurated

Chao Wai Ieng and Mak Kim Meng were sworn in as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) yesterday (2 January). The swearing-in was administered by Cheong Weng Chon, Secretary for Administration and Justice, and witnessed by Lam Chi Long, Chief of the Office of the Secretary for Administration and Justice.



Monetary and financial statistics – November 2024

According to statistics released today (3 January) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply retreated in November. Meanwhile, resident deposits dropped slightly from a month ago whereas loans to residents remained stable.


Annual Album 2024

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue an exquisite “Annual Album 2024” on 5th January 2025. The cover of the album uses a golden cloud pattern as the background, showing an auspicious dragon with a pearl in its mouth while soaring in the sky, manifesting its valiance and extraordinary momentum. The pearl is the dragon’s treasure, represented in the form of a stamp, symbolizing philatelic culture as a valuable treasure of civilization. The colourful dragon pearl shines dazzlingly, and represents the diverse and interesting themes of Macao stamps.
