Chief Executive: Election of the 8th Legislative Assembly of the MSAR held successfully

The election of the 8th Legislative Assembly of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government was held successfully yesterday (14 September) and the initial counting of the votes has been completed. On behalf of the MSAR Government, Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai conveyed his congratulations to the 14 directly-elected legislators and the 12 indirectly-elected legislators who had been elected to sit in the Legislative Assembly and expressed his thanks to all registered voters who had participated in the election.


Legislative Assembly Election conducted in an orderly manner, Electoral Affairs Commission to expedite vote counting

The Chairman of the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election, Mr Seng Ioi Man, said today’s poll had been conducted in an orderly manner, with procedures running smoothly across all polling stations throughout the voting period. Efforts were now being made to expedite the vote-counting process.

The semifinals and finals of WTT Champions Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, organized by the Sports Bureau, World Table Tennis (WTT) and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, were played today (14 September) at the Macao East Asian Games Dome. China’s Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha won the men’s and women’s singles title, respectively.

The President of the seventh Legislative Assembly, Mr Kou Hoi In, today said the voting process for the eighth Legislative Assembly Election had been running smoothly, and called on those who had not yet cast their ballot to do so promptly.
