Representatives from Two International Authoritative MICE Organisations Visit Macao to Promote the Macao-Hengqin MICE Industry and Intensify Professional Training
Senior representatives from two international authoritative MICE organisations — Alexander Alles, Executive Director of the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC), and Mark Cochrane, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) — visited Macao to meet with the the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao SAR, and local exhibition industry representatives. They exchanged views on the development of the international exhibition industry and the collaboration in green and sustainable practices in the Greater Bay Area, as well as introduced the advantages of "MICE² Macao x Hengqin" and the “Multi-venue Event" model.

MPU Scholars’ Monograph on Translation Studies Published by Brill, the Netherlands
Professor Li Li of the Faculty of Languages and Translation (FLT) of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), together with Professor John Cobbett, an expert in Scottish literature, co-edited a book on literary translation entitled ‘Scotland and China: Literary Encounters’, which was published by Brill Academic Publishers in February 2025. The study explores the role of China in Scottish literature, as well as the translation and reception of Scottish literature in China, promoting cross-cultural communication in the field of literature and the development of research in the field of Chinese and Western literary creation and translation studies.

Invitation of tenders for rainwater pumping station in Avenida dos Jogos da Ásia Oriental
To alleviate the situation in which Taipa Old Village gets flooded easily during heavy rain, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) launches the drainage optimisation project of Old Taipa Village in order. The first phase involves the invitation of tenders for the construction works of rainwater pumping station in Avenida dos Jogos da Ásia Oriental. The new rainwater pumping station aims to increase the drainage capacity and alleviate the flooding in the area. The mentioned project has been introduced to the Consultative Committee on Municipal Affairs and the Community Service Consultative Council respectively.

IAM issues more than 80 provisional licenses for establishments of veterinary clinical care and commercial activity of animals
In order to help the sector of veterinary clinical care and commercial activity of animals operate in accordance with the law, the “Law on Veterinary Clinical Care and Commercial Activity of Animals” provides for a transitional regime for the relevant establishments, with the transitional period ending on 31 March. Since 1 April, all establishments of veterinary clinical care, breeding, sale and boarding of animals are required to obtain a license before commencement of business; otherwise they shall be deemed to be operating without a license. The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) recently has issued provisional licenses with two-year validity to establishments in the sector that meet the requirements set out in the transitional provisions and intend to continue with their operation. Besides, IAM has published a list of the establishments of veterinary clinical care and commercial activity of animals on the website for the public to view.
