UM rector shares experience at Boao Forum for Asia’s conference on technological innovation and construction of IP systems
A conference on innovation and intellectual property (IP) protection as part of Boao Forum for Asia 2022 was held on 12 July and 13 July in both an online and in-person setting. During the plenary session, University of Macau (UM) Rector Yonghua Song gave an online speech on technological innovation and the construction of IP ecosystems and shared his views and UM’s experience in this area with guests from the political and business world as well as the academia around the world.

Community Treatment Centre plays the role of quarantine and triage of persons at different risks; the medical team takes care of patients 24 hours a day, effectively alleviating the workload of hospital emergency
In response to the development of the epidemic since 18 June, to meet the quarantine demand, and expand the service capacity of quarantine station, the Health Bureau has immediately prepared for facilities set up and staff allocation, and the quarantine facility in the Community Treatment Centre located in the Macau East Asian Games Dome has been put into operation since 24 June.

Tourist price index (TPI) for the 2nd quarter of 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Tourist Price Index (TPI) for the second quarter of 2022 dropped by 1.77% year-on-year to 114.87. The decrease was mainly attributable to lower hotel room rates, as well as reduced prices of handbags and watches. Among the various sections of goods and services, price index of Accommodation fell markedly by 15.03% year-on-year, and the indices of Clothing & Footwear (-2.90%) and Transport & Communications (-2.50%) also registered a drop.

Postponement of new stamp issue of “Macanese Gastronomy”
Due to the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia in Macao, in order to reduce population mobility, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau decides to postpone the issuance of new stamp "Macanese Gastronomy"which was scheduled to be issued on 20th July 2022. Day-off rotation scheme for the staff at social service nursing homes under closed-loop management will be implemented soon
The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) has been actively coordinating with the 36 subsidised social service facilities (nursing homes) under “Preventative Closed-loop Management Measures" in Macau to respond to the staff's aspirations for day-off rotation outside the closed-loop, seeking to implement day-off rotation scheme for the staff in the near future. In addition, the management entities of the nursing homes have decided or are actively considering providing additional salary, allowances and/or day-off for the closed-loop staff as an act of encouragement and appreciation for their efforts.
