IPIM Joins Hands with Six Major Leisure Enterprises to Promote Macao’s Advantages on Investment and MICE Industry in Guangzhou, Attracting MICE Organisers to Organise MICE Events in Macao

In order to promote the advantages of Macao's investment and MICE environment and to attract major mainland enterprises to Macao for MICE events and to boost Macao's economic development, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), together with six major integrated tourism and leisure enterprises, visited Guangzhou on 9 March, and co-operated with the Chamber of Beauty Culture and Cosmetics of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce to present the first “Macao Investment and MICE Environment Promotion Event” in Guangzhou. The event attracted over 100 members from the beauty and cosmetics and big health industries to learn more about the potential for investment, exhibitions and conferences in Macao. Some members expressed interest in coming to Macao to organise MICE events.


Cultural and creative shop and dining space open at Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre Mandarin’s House Store extends visiting experience

In order to further promote the development of the cultural and creative industries, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has opened a cultural and creative shop and a dining space at the Tap Siac Square Commercial Centre by leasing out the commercial spaces through public tenders. On the other hand, with a brand-new style, the Mandarin’s House Store offers cultural and creative products of local brands and overseas designers, souvenirs themed on the Mandarin’s House, and creative products related to local cultural events, providing a marketing platform for Macao’s cultural and creative industries. All are welcome to visit.


Enhancement works for barrier-free facilities at the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum are completed

The enhancement works for barrier-free facilities at the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, have been completed recently, mainly including the installation of a lifting platform for people with mobility difficulties and those in need.


Golden snub-nosed monkey family in Macao has another new member

The female golden snub-nosed monkey living in Seac Pai Van Park gave birth to another male golden snub-nosed monkey on March 1. The baby monkey is now in stable condition and makes loud sounds, taken care of in the arms of his affectionate mother. The animal care and medical team of the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will continue to closely monitor the physical condition of the mother and the baby monkey.


Consumer Council conducted specific price survey on 3 categories of products

The Consumer Council continues to conduct price survey on various kinds of products to enhance price transparency and survey result reveals price differences in different retail outlets. Consumers are suggested to use the data published by the Council for price comparison.


Residential property price index for November 2021 – January 2022

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for November 2021 - January 2022 decreased by 1.0% over the previous period (October - December 2021) to 264.8. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (264.2) and Taipa & Coloane (267.3) fell by 1.1% and 0.8% respectively.



Children’s playground in Guia Hill recreation square reopens

To provide a more comfortable and safe leisure venue for public use, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has improved the children’s playground in the recreation square in Guia Hill Municipal Park. Many types of novel play facilities have been introduced. The relevant works have been completed and the playground reopened on March 5 (Saturday).


IAM to transplant two trees in Avenida do Oceano next week to facilitate drainage pipe repair works

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will transplant two trees next week to facilitate the urgent repair works required for a section of rainwater drainage pipe near Begonia Court in Avenida do Oceano, Taipa. During the construction period, the nearby green area will be enclosed. The public is advised to pay attention to the measure.


CCAC unveils case of alleged passive bribery and power abuse involving a deputy sergeant

The CCAC has earlier received a report that a deputy sergeant of the Traffic Department of the Public Security Police Force allegedly received bribe. According to the report, the deputy sergeant leaked information about the police to a gaming room owner, who offered accommodation in luxury hotel suites to the deputy sergeant and his wife in return.
