All people in Macao are required to take a rapid antigen test for novel coronavirus within tomorrow (25 June)

In response to the outbreak of novel coronavirus in Macao since 18 June, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) has decided to require all people in Macao to take a rapid antigen test for novel coronavirus (hereinafter referred to as the “rapid antigen test”) within tomorrow (25 June).


The Response and Coordination Centre announces the arrangements of the NAT for key areas tomorrow (25 June)

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) announces that in response to the novel coronavirus outbreak in Macao since 18 June, on the basis of mass nucleic acid testing, a further nucleic acid test targeting key areas will be conducted, so as to screen potential novel coronavirus carriers in the local community.


Citywide NAT has ended | Collected samples: 667,144 | Negative results: 530,867 | Cumulative no. of 10-in-1 samples tested positive: 46

With regard to the present citywide NAT programme, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announces the following:


IAM receives requests for assistance in temporary care of 34 pets

If members of the public cannot take care of their pets because they have been confirmed for novel coronavirus infection or they have to undergo isolation, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will provide service for the temporary care for the pets under the special circumstances. Since 19 June, requests for assistance in temporary care of 34 pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs, etc. were received. Some of the pets have been taken in by relatives and friends of the pet owners and some have been sent to the Municipal Kennel for temporary care. IAM urges the pet owners not to leave their pets alone at home because they have been confirmed for infection or they have to undergo isolation, or abandon their pets because they mistakenly believe in rumours.


Management of individuals involved in positive mixed samples

In view that multiple 10-in-1 mixed samples have been tested positive in the current epidemic, which results in a relatively large number of people having to re-test on a single-sample basis, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre hereby clarifies the handling procedures for positive mixed samples as follows:

Adjustments on lockdown and control measures for risk groups

In response tothechangesofthe epidemic situation and the short incubation period of theOmicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 virus,the Novel Coronavirus ResponseandCoordinationCentreannouncesthatstarting from tomorrow (25 June), the lockdown and control measures for risk groupsunderthelocal epidemic(including core close contacts, non-core close contacts (people withcommontracks) andsecondaryclose contacts) will be amended as follows:

Sampling stations and times of positive specimens in present round of Citywide NAT

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre stated that, in the present mass testing drive which began at 09:00am yesterday (23 June), a total of 20 tubes of 10-in-1 mixed samples have been tested positive as of 08:00am today (24 June). The 20 tubes of samples concerned were collected at the following NAT stations and times:
