IFTM Tourism Event Management students hosted “CHILLTOP” event for Promoting local culture and creative arts
The Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) Third year students of the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Event Management programme successfully organised CHILLTOP on 30 April 2022. As part of the course requirements of “Event Management: Hosting an Event” and under the supervision of course lecturer Dr. Ubaldino Couto, students are required to conceptualise, plan, implement and evaluate a public live event. This year, students adopted the theme of street art culture to promote Macao’s local culture and creative arts in the form of a bazaar with performances and experiential activities. CHILLTOP combines the “chill” elements with the event venue, which is the rooftop of the Inspiration Building of the IFTM Mong-Há Campus.

IAM finds no abnormalities in re-tests on cold-chain meat products imported from Brazil
The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China announced on 24 May that samples of the packaging of frozen meat products imported from meat product manufacturers in Brazil with registration numbers SIF2015, SIF2058, SIF337 and SIF2543 tested positive in novel coronavirus nucleic acid tests. In view of this, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has immediately launched the contingency plan and adopted measures such as source tracing, investigation and re-tests of the products of the involved manufacturers. Local businesses have been requested to immediately seal the products sourced from the involved manufacturers. Moreover, samples have been collected again for re-tests and no abnormalities have been found in the results. Meanwhile, IAM has immediately suspended the import applications of the products of the involved manufacturers.

Results of retail sales survey for 1st quarter of 2022
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that value of retail sales for the first quarter of 2022 totalled MOP18.65 billion, down slightly by 0.6% year-on-year. After removing the effect of price changes, the sales volume index rose by 1.9% year-on-year.

Cultural Affairs Bureau performs system upgrade and maintenance of its Online Book Shop from 27 May
Through a wide variety of books and periodicals on its platform, the Online Book Shop of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) facilitates local and overseas readers to select and purchase IC’s publications online so as to promote reading. In order to provide more stable and convenient services for the public, the Online Book Shop will undergo a system upgrade and maintenance from 5pm on 27 May.
