Exhibition “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Export of Silk Products in the Ming and Qing Dynasties” showcasing relics of the Maritime Silk Road

In order to promote the development of the Cultured Greater Bay Area in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and further strengthen cooperation among the three regions, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the exhibition “A Tale of Three Cities: Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Export of Silk Products in the Ming and Qing Dynasties”. The opening ceremony was held on 26 November, at the lobby of the Macao Museum, and was officiated by the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Mok Ian Ian; the Deputy Director of the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Yin Rutao; the 2nd Class Inspector of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, Zhou Xianhua; the Director of the Guangdong Museum, Xiao Haiming; the Deputy General Manager of the Bank of China Macau Branch, Chan Hio Peng; the Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of Air Macau Company Limited, Wen Dexin; and the Director of the Macao Museum, Lou Ho Ian. The Secretary for Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Tsui Ying Wai, also participated in the opening ceremony via video. The exhibition is held until 13 March 2022. All are welcome to visit.


IPIM Strives to Amplify Investment Promotion Effectiveness “One-stop Service” Handles 263 Projects in the First 10 Months of 2021

In order to introduce more industries and projects in Macao for its moderate economic diversification, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has been constantly enhancing investment promotion in recent years on aspects such as strengthening the synergy between MICE and commerce and trade sectors, increasing the application of electronic technology, improving the Investor’s One-stop Service, and pro-actively publicising Macao’s business environment and advantages. With these efforts, IPIM strives to amplify investment promotion effectiveness, uphold the goal of making Macao an ideal place where investors can quickly launch and effectively maintain businesses and enhance the moderate diversification of economic growth.




Employment survey for August-October 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that both the general unemployment rate (2.8%) and the unemployment rate of local residents (3.8%) for August-October 2021 decreased by 0.1 percentage point from the previous period (July-September 2021). Meanwhile, the underemployment rate increased by 0.6 percentage points to 4.5%.


Bib collection for the 2021 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon to start next Monday

The 2021 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon, jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macau, will be held on 5 December 2021. The Macao International Marathon is embracing its 40th edition this year, and will be title-sponsored by the Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) for the 18th consecutive year. The marathon and half-marathon races will start at 6am and the mini-marathon race at 6:15am at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium.

Singing Club Recruitment CCM Open to New Voices

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is recruiting a new wave of choristers to join its Singing Club. Applications are now open to children and youth aged 8 to 16, wishing to explore the delights of vocal performance and to enhance their artistic insights.


MICE statistics for the 3rd quarter of 2021

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, as several events that had been scheduled for the third quarter of 2021 were postponed or cancelled amid the pandemic, number of MICE events in the quarter decreased by 76 quarter-to-quarter to 71; number of participants & attendees fell by 28.9% to 226,000. In comparison with the same quarter last year, MICE events increased by 3 while the number of participants & attendees dropped by 23.9%.
